So, remember how I got that phone call from Bosslady last night at midnight? And remember how I thought she was drunk but she said she wasn't?

Apparently, she was drunk. Very drunk. It's entirely possible there is no liquor left in Georgetown. I got to work this morning to find Lieutenant Asshat (who was supposed to be there), and Bossman (who wasn't, and also got a phone call from Bosslady begging him to come in today). From talking to Lieutenant Asshat, I got the impression she called a lot of people last night and this morning. So she called me, and Bossman, and you, and you, and you, which just goes to show that friends shouldn't let friends use the Romper Room mirror as a phone directory when they're drunk.

Also, I saw Mean Girls today, and OMG, everybody needs to go see it right the fuck now. I died laughing about two minutes in (it was the religious homeschooling bit that got me started) and was pretty much laughing steadily for two straight hours. And Damien? Is so totally my new idol in life. "Danny DeVito!" Hee!

Ooo, and thank you, Hollywood, for hiring guys who look like this and just happen to be 23 years old to play teenagers so women like me don't feel so bad perving on 'em.

Yep, isn't he yummy? he used to play J.R. Chandler on All My Children, which is why I thought he looked so damn familiar in the trailer.
going to see that next weekend, or something.

okay, but tell me something - is Mean Girls just a total rip off of Heathers? because that's what the preview i saw was saying to me, and i got all kinds of annoyed. i mean, i loved Heathers. and it still stands up, so there's no need for a remake. none, i say!

It's not a total ripoff, but there are some affectionate references to it (and Election, and other tern movies, but in a good way). The preview isn't the best, but the script is extremely smart and funny and the cast is really great. It really is worth seeing.

references are another thing altogether... i was just afraid that they remade it and were hoping maybe nobody would notice. ;)

i feel myself being swayed. i do indeed.

Oh, christ, Mean Girls was hysterical. Damien is my god. And there were still people in the theater who whooped and hollered at the "fight the dinosaurs and homosexuals" bit, not realizing that their chops were being busted. Oklahoma needs to fall off the map.
