Jul. 5th, 2004 07:47 amAmericans safer with Saddam in prison: Bush
It's not the obvious naivete of that statement that gets me. It's this sentence -- Two Bush opponents, taken out of the crowd in restraints by police, said they were told they couldn't be there because they were wearing shirts that said they opposed the president.
*sings sarcastically* Oh, I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free ... *gags because I was singing that nauseating song*
Anyone else find it as pathetic as I do that the president is so sensitive he can't even take criticism in the form of a couple of T-shirts?
EDIT: You know, I think I get more irritated by fireworks on July Fourth because I'm probably one of the few Americans who doesn't expect them that night. My hometown never has fireworks on the fourth of July, because they're saving their fireworks money so they can have them the last weekend of July into the beginning of August when they have their little town carnival. So my usual reaction to July Fourth fireworks is, "Dude, lay off! It's too bloody soon for this!"

Thanks for the link - nice to stay on top of the violation of rights in your country.

LMFAO
Date: 2004-07-05 05:44 am (UTC)5000 people isn't even big enough for an 'intrest group' ... and thinking on it, where they heck did they find that many people willing to cheer for him? I wonder how many were actors? *snark*
Making a pitch for votes in a state where 200,000 veterans comprise 15 percent of the population, Bush praised veterans for ``setting a good example for those who have followed ... in Afghanistan and Iraq," said Bush. Thirty-six percent of all male West Virginians fought in World War II, 16 percent in Korea and 20 per cent in Vietnam.
And all of them have lost their benifits. Is Bush mad? He really thinks he's going to sway them with a assinine smile and a slap on the back?
This is a great artical :)
