I'm so incredibly bored and sorely tempted to do another Q&A review. Right now, I'm wavering between Armageddon, Deep Impact, Titanic, The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

*sigh* I think I need to get a life.

EDIT: You know, washing laundry's not half bad. I mean, it's a chore, so it's kinda boring, but then again, it's not vacuuming or dusting, which I loathe. Just wanted to say that.

Titanic. Or Potc. Or both - with all the water, and ships, and more water. On the other hand, Titanic doesn't have Johnny Depp. But it has much more water.

I vote for Towering Inferno! That movie's just begging for a Q&A Review.

PoTC because it's fabulous and innuendo-laden and Armageddon because the sheer pile of steaming crap that it is cannot be believed.

Dad the geophysicist : 'Oil field trash? They're using oil field trash? I must watch this.'
Me : 'I've heard bad things about this, Dad. Really, don't.'
After about ten minutes, both : 'My eyes!'
Later, flicking back to check on it : 'My eyes!'
Near the end when Bruce Willis shuts the Affleck in the space pod without him : 'My eyes!'

The washer-and-drier part of the laundry isn't so bad... it's the ironing that kills me. The only good part about being out of work for three weeks has been not needing to wash or iron grown-up work clothes.

I've realized I don't mind washing clothes or ironing them, just as long as they're my own. I have a fit every time I'm home and it's a special occasion and my father and brother just casually hand me their dress shirts to iron. (Urgh. Your arms aren't broken, gentlemen.)

Washing dishes, I don't mind so much, either. Put on my headphones, bop along to the music, and before you know it, you're done.

Noiw, vacuuming tends to drown out the music in my headphones, which drives me nuts. And dusting is ... well, dusting. There is no possible way to jazz up dusting.

And let's not even start on my feelings toward cleaning cat litter.

See, I live in a no-pets apartment building and we only have rugs in the living room and in my bedroom, so there is no cat litter, and really hardly any vacuuming at all. Washing dishes bothers me a little because the sink is in a corner of the kitchen, very squishy, and our kitchen has no windows (probably the only thing I really don't like about my place). So it gets depressing in there.

The only useful thing I've ever known my dad to do in my entire life is clean the bathroom. He's almost 60, though, and I think he got thoroughly trained to expect the women of the house to do everything for him when he was growing up in the 40s and 50s. If I had a brother pulling that crap, though? I'd strangle him with his own shirt.

My mother's always wondering why my brother can't clean his own damn room, and I've told her why. Because all he has to do is suffer a day or two of her yelling at him before she stomps in and starts cleaning it for him, bitching the whole time.

I'm not even sure the kid knows how to do laundry. And then they're going to bitch about him not moving out and it's going to be because he doesn't know how to take care of himself. He'll be lugging laundry home for my mom to do like my cousin used to. (Which won't be as bad as me, because I'll be coming home to use the washer and dryer if I have to, but I can do my own laundry, thank you very much. And it absolutely won't be because my parents have a big-screen and always have at least one six-pac of Smirnoff. No, sirree.)

before reading the comments i actually wondered if you were doing it by hand, silly me, but you did compare it to dusting and other manual labours ;P
