Expounding on the superiority of democracy to every other country on the planet and then even so much as thinking about cancelling the elections? Perhaps less ironic and more hypocritical -- FDR was a Democrat. (I'm really needing to get around to watching The Hunting of the President because it's all about the way the same Republicans who were trying to crucify Clinton and the Democrats are sweeping the exact same stuff under the rug now that it's their people doing it.)
