Do you know what I feel the urge to do? Get together some cash and go out at the end of the month to buy new clothes and school supplies.

Hee. If there was one thing I loved about school, it was shopping in the fall. :)

You know what would be cool? You could get together cash and buy my kids back to school clothes and school supplies! That way you do a good deed, and get to quell your inner desire to be a kid going back to school again!

Or not.

The supplies were easily my favorite part of back to school. I love buying them for my kids. There's just something about a brand new bookbag filled with pristine crayons, ball-points, notebooks, pee-chees, and the like to make one feel ready for anything.

Come to think of it - I am moving offices this week...I need a magnetic mirror, some new pens, a storage unit - OMG - grownup supplies......!

I remember elementary school...the supply list would come, and I would BEG my mom to take me shopping. I loved buying school supplies. Now, it's boring. A five subject spiral and some pens and pencils, and I'm set.

Crayons and markers and glue and pencil boxes and colored pencils and blunt scissors should be required in high school.

hee hee...

Forget the clothes... end of month for me it's the school supplies! That was always the best part of it for me too, so I kept it up for years after I was out of school.

They always have those little single subject notebooks ten for a dollar or something extreme like that, so I stock up the whole year. Or get a huge five star binder and pens and paper and stuff. I'm a pen collecting nut anyway and now they have gellies... and I actually write story notes with them in different colors. Every year a big treat.

Robert and Ari >^..^< (Why don't they have a seasonal Cat Supplies month with toys and catnip?)

Putting paper-bag book covers on all of your textbooks ... and then the fun of scribbling stuff all over them in class. :)

a-ha! beg to differ here: we had to encase the books in sticky see-through foil, which was a day-job in itself, and the air-bubbles would annoy me the whole year :)
the note-books to write in had custom-made plastic slip-on covers

Oooh, I love school supply shopping. Every year I buy dividers and folders and tell myself I'll be organized, and every year I'm a mess by winter vacation. But for me late August is more of a new year than New Year's.

Hell yeah! I would always run around and grab everything, even if I never used it.
