Aug. 20th, 2004 02:43 pmDamn. I went to the mall today, looked in both Borders and Suncoast, and couldn't find Buckaroo Banzai in either one. If it weren't for the fact that Borders is full of books and Suncoast is selling a DVD player for $20 if you buy any two movies over $10, I'd be bitching like crazy. (As it is, I sound like a commercial for both stores.) Tomorrow, I try Best Buy.
In any event, today's finds (for nice and cheap -- hee, I love DVD deals) were Escape from New York, Escape From L.A., Big Trouble in Little China, and Starman. (I really want the Starman TV series, too, but my God is a vengeful, mindless God who thinks ALF deserves a box set more. *sigh*)
Also, I have my bus ticket for Labor Day weekend. Everybody else I know will be in Atlanta chasing famous people, and I'll be in Pennsylvania, buried under a mountain of Siamese cats.

I can't wait to see your jaw dropping once you see Buckaroo Banzai; then you must, of course, read the deliciously evil and pulp influenced novel from whence the movie came:

You'll be writing BB fanfic before the night is through :>

Date: 2004-08-20 12:30 pm (UTC)Apparently, it was *almost* made into a movie, but the people involved ran out of money and interest. I give it two oscillation overthrusters up for being awesome badical outrageous.

Date: 2004-08-21 06:50 pm (UTC)I feel the same way when I contemplate potential DVD box sets of American Gothic, Kolchak the Night Stalker, and The Lone Gunmen.
Although apparently God is listening to me at least once in a while...the company is going to start releasing the 3 seasons of classic Star Trek in box set format starting the end of August.
