For a grand total of: 181 DVDs

EDIT: Oh, thank God. I was afraid that owning the entire Terminator series would mean Schwartzenegger would end up my favorite actor. Um, that would be a world of NO.

I've been looking for Young Frankenstein. *Ingrating grin*
I'd post my list, but I have over 250. :)

Slowly but surely, I'm going to get to 250 if it kills me. (I'd be closer if I still had all the DVDs I used to have, but I needed the money and had to sell most of 'em. Ugh.)

I saw you have Ladyhawke too. One of my all time favorites (I have a copy, too)...

This creature, Guzzlefish, is very useful for keeping track of one's DVD collection (and sharing it with other people--in case someone thinks to hirself, "Oh, la la la, I think I shall buy [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess a DVD today! But I cannot, because I do not know what she already has. Woe."

Yup, just got it back after a long, looooong separation. *snuggles her copy*

I give myself something like forty to fifty bucks a week to spend on DVDs, depending on my bill situation. I'm so totally addicted. It's very sad.

My budget is pretty small. I usually get Blockbusters previous views... 2 for 10 pounds kind of stuff.

My budget should be smaller, but I'm horribly picky like that. It's new DVDs or nothing.

Well, now that that's done ...

Uh, I think making a wish list is going to take me just this side of forever to finish. Can't I just bookmark every movie and TV show out on DVD?

he is your fifth-most-collected though *snicker*

i so hope you are wrong and the lotr completest-set-ever-before-the-next-one will not come out 2004. i think they want to cash in on the extended-version-part-3 first and kill us with the boxset in 2005?

From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
Then again, after checking Amazon, if the extended version of ROTK is anything like the other two, it'll be out in three months. And if they release it in August, they may have enough time to put together an Uber-Trilogy Set that'll make someone orgasm just being near it.

I also noticed that with the other two, the first versions were released in August, and the EE released in November, which hints that they might be planning a nice little box set for Christmas. (Of course, that's not taing into account what they'll do to us next year ... maybe box sets with the LOTR actor clone of your choice? I could get behind that one.)

*rolls eyes* No, I'm not a DVD nerd.

ah right, you are in america. in europe they released the extended versions in november each year ... i can't afford that orgasm-trilogy, no matter how happy it would make you! if p.j. has any decency left in him - or, more realistically, if "king kong" keeps him busy - he won't do the überedition too soon. or they will put out an extra dvd that the poor sods who bought the ees and thought they had it all can just buy in addition to that!

or each scene from the pov of the character of your choice? either would be swell.

neither am i.

Sadly, nope. They've stated that the EE will still be released in November. The reason they waited until August for the first two Theatrical cuts was because they were putting together the EE preview. They didn't have to do that for ROTK.

PJ has finished editing the EE of ROTK -- he wanted it out of the way early, because now he's busy with King Kong. However, just because the scenes are in the right order doesn't mean that they're finished. The FX teams have to do their thing (especially if there happen to be any new scenes involving Gollum or Oliphaunts or something), Howard Shore has to score the new scenes (probably about 10-20 minutes' worth were already scored, or at least partially scored, because they were cut so late, but that still leaves half an hour of film music to write, record, and edit), and they have to go and find the actors, all over the world, to make the documentaries for discs 3 and 4. Usually they just coralled them during off time on the pickup shoots in the summers, but there aren't any of those now so the actors have to be chased down.

Anyway, the point is, with all the things that still have to be done to finish the extended cut of the movie, not to mention all the commentary tracks and the two entire discs of special features, they can't get it released before November.
