Rock on! I love that he understood that a bread oven for those women was important. It's the little things, as well as the big ones, you know?

Incidentally, heifer.org is a way for the rest of us to donate that sort of thing. Beehives, goats, cows, things that help folks get through daily lives better, concrete stuff. It's such a good thing I couldn't help but shill for it. :)

Oh yeah, my roommate got a catalog from them once. Really interesting idea they've got there.

Excellent gentleman. One of the main reasons I'd like to get money is to put it into things that matter to me (*cough*betterlibraries*cough*), and I'm glad to see that there are still some private philanthropists out there who don't set up complex application processes in order to get stingy gifts. Generosity is a marvelous thing.

(I'd question seeking out janitors and maids to give them money, though; they're making pennies, but it's honest, and there are a lot of people in the world--I'm one of them--who would be horribly insulted by being given a handout while in the course of doing honest work. It's kind of like having a lover leave a hundred on the dresser, you know? I'm surprised that hasn't backfired on him, especially in Yankee New England.)

Thank you

This guy has the right idea about the American Dream- everyone should aspire to be rich and give it all away.
