So, I actually did listen to Bill O'Reilly today, who gave Kerry the slight edge in the debates and was, aside from the aggravatingly repetitive yet not unexpected pimping of his books every other caller and his mindless obsession with France-bashing like anyone still gives a shit, actually pretty coherent for once. It was his callers who worried me today, like the ones who said that Bush won because he stood up for what he believed in (hey, dumbass, they're both doing that) or that while he lost on carriage and behavior, his content was far better than Kerry's. (To which, I might add, even O'Reilly said more than once that Bush repeated himself.)

And you know what the mention of Bush repeating the same few things over and over again reminded me of? The remake of "Born Yesterday", when Don Johnson told Melanie Griffith that to get along in Washington, DC conversation, you only needed to know a short list of phrases, and he used all these little baseball-esque signals to get her to use each one in conversations to sound smart. (I can't remember whether it happened in the original, since I only saw it once, but still.)

In other news, instead of getting Eats, Shoots, and Leaves, I ended up getting the America book from The Daily Show gang. *giggles* I think I love this book. I would have been much more attentive in high school history classes if there would have been more comedy and sarcasm involved.

Also added to the DVD collection: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mean Girls, Shaolin Soccer, and Copycat. And tomorrow, I am so going to see Shaun of the Dead again. It's research for The Walking Dead of Wilkes-Barre, I swear. ;) (Speaking of which, I need to sign up for NaNoWriMo when I get home. I'd do it now, but the website's still got some bugs, I think.)

And Mount St. Helens finally erupted. *grabs popcorn and a great big telescope to watch from the East Coast*

That bit's not in the original Born Yesterday. Sorry to say. Gosh I love that movie. I should watch it. Like, right now. Now.

please don't blow up any volcanoes in northern california, 'cos I have homework to do. and not in southern CA because my grandson is there. And when you get around to Eats, Shoots and Leaves you're going to love it. and *shyly* what is NaNoWriMo, and why do you have to do it?

Oh, and I am so glad SOMEONE can afford to buy a lot of movies right now. My list of things I have to get when I start working more (or getting paid to write...tossup which will happen first, frankly) gets longer and longer...*sigh*

Sadly it was less of an eruption and more of a burp...I'm still hoping for more.
