Mount St. Helens May Take Weeks to Erupt

Oh, come on! *kicks Mt. St. Helens* Erupt, damn it!

EDIT: I swear right here and right now that I will review the movie Volcano the second Mt. St. Helens blows. There. If nothing else will urge on Fate, saying that when I've got three to write and one I should have written a while ago should get that sucker moving.

According to what I heard on a message board from a geologist-in-training working at Mt. St. Helens, there's new magma moving in the volcano, so when it pops, it should be a pretty good event. I hope so; I've been waiting for this since I visited the National Monument in second or third grade.

That mountain is acting up just to spite me. I'm from Portland and I recently moved to Germany (just for a few years) and I'm a huge volcano geek, and I was saying before I left that I just knew one of my mountains would do something as soon as I left so I wouldn't be there to see it. But I didn't expect it would be St Helens. If I were there, I'd be the one driving towards it while others are evacuating.

Well, I wouldn't get too close. I'm crazy, not self-destructive. :) But I'd love to see it up close, at least in the same general area.
