Vote for Kerry, and burn in Hell. Well, gee, I vote for Kerry and the armageddon will commence? So are you trying to convince to vote for Bush or not? The whole thing relates to Kerry being pro-choice and pro-stem cell research, both of which I don't have a problem with in most cases. I understand those who do, but ... look, let me put it this way.

My stance on abortion is like this: I'm pro-choice, because it's better to have a safe way to do it legally than an unsafe way to do it illegally, the human population on this planet is out of control, and on a spiritual level, if there is a God, I don't think any self-respecting, supposedly loving omniscient being is cruel enough to put a soul into a fetus it knows damn well will be aborted anyway.

Do I think it should be used for victims of rape or incest? Definitely, if they want it. First, a vile act like rape or incest, and then being forced to carry a piece of the person who perpetrated it for nine months? Ugh. Anybody who argues that even these victims should be disallowed abortions worries the hell out of me.

Should it be used as birth control? Of course not. You know what should be used as birth control? Birth control. Does God want you using birth control? Well, maybe not, but if he doesn't, I'm sure he'll show you by taking full advantage of the 3% fallibility rate on condoms. *sigh* (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] chaos_pockets for the link.)

Tourist Killed by Lightning on Peru Peak -- It's not just the tourist getting struck that gets me, it's this bit: Witnesses said simultaneous bolts of lightning had hit Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu. Dude, there is some fucked-up shit happening this year, I swear to God. *shakes head*

This year's World Series: The Red Sox vs. the Cardinals. I do like the Cardinals, but I still kind of hoped for the Texas vs. Massachusetts series we would have had otherwise. Oh, well.

Wow, if it's your time to go, what a way to go! Hit by the same lightning strike that hit those three points at one time!?

You know what this means, right? A secret Ancient Aztek Majik has awakened to take over the world. Unfortunately, the other sacrifice was missing, so he'll be the lazy sort of evil that gets up in the morning and goes, "Aw, mum, just ten more eons!"

Hm...
Just out of curiousity, where does your interest in disasters come from?

And then he wakes up after his snooze and realizes the Earth has vanished, and the new Earthlings are building houses on his genitals.

The "birth control" argument is the one that always seems most misogynistic to me. First, abortion is not BC. You have to have gotten pregnant to have one, which controls nothing. Second, it assumes that women would rather have an invasive medical procedure multiple times rather than worry their pretty little heads about BC. See what this does? It puts the onus of sexual morality solely on one partner in a heterosexual (potentially reproductive) relationship.

In other words, if they really wanted to avoid "abortion as BC," they'd run a massive campaign encouraging men to use condoms.

Er... sorry. I appear to have ranted in your comments.

I told my sons "Keep it zipped or wear a raincoat: they're your sperm, it's your baby. If you don't want a baby right now, don't make one." and they got it! (and alot of flack from their friends for their lame mom, but no-one else made an unwanted baby, either..,)

Well, according to those fun fundies, my Jewish butt's going to be roasted anyway. So I might as well make Earth a nice place while I'm here.

I'm wearing a pentacle necklace and have one tattooed on my shoulder. They're going to have me on a spit over a bonfire. :)
