School District Ban Halloween Festivities -- *seethes* I hope vampires and zombies invade their school that day and eat all the adults. (And if you're so afraid it distracts from learning, then for crying out loud, use it to teach the kids something.)

This station has something I've never seen before -- a Red Bull vending machine. Damn it, dispense Bawl's guarana! *kicks machine*

EDIT: I have a coaxial cable for the new TV. Which means I can watch Lost this week. Which pretty much guarantees at least one short fic.

Also, I called my old station before, and it's collapsing around their ears without me there. I win at life. :)

DVD-ADDICTED SHOPPER OF EDIT: Today's acquisitions -- Mis Congenialty, Blade Runner, The Goonies, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and The Birdcage, and all for super cheap. Suncoast's Replay gift certificates make me happy. :)

I love Red Bull

I can't stand Red Bull, but the machine next to it sells Mountain Dew and I'm severely tempted to make a few cocktails and pass them around the office. That place needs livening up.

Of course it's collapsing without you. Every office needs someone who actually has a brain. Their role is to snark at everybody else in the place while actually getting stuff done.

... Hey, just for the record, is the current round on [livejournal.com profile] ithurtsmybrain allowing the usual thing of eventual double submission?

Sorry, the Barenaked Ladies' Brian Wilson just started playing, and I therefore feel the need to mention that fact.

Which means I can watch Lost this week.

If you are not already aware, I feel it is my duty to inform you that they are replaying the latest two episodes tomorrow night.

Poor thing. You have no Bawl's?

And when you finally get back to doing FAQ Reviews, Miss Congeniality demands snark. Please?

Okay, so the Wiccans are going after Halloween. GUYS! You're supposed to be the cool ones! What next, banning of Hansel and Gretel? Harry Potter?

I always used to dress up as a witch for Halloween. This sucks.

Ooh, I love The Goonies. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] wal_lace, though, Miss Congeniality needs snark.

So that's who stole all the good karma!

Seriously though, I'm happy you're having a good day :)

That's what we get for No Child Left Behind, good intensions that require us to give students standardized test constantly in order to keep federal funding. No more room for fun stuff.

When I was in high school our district banned the elementary school Halloween parties (which sucked for us h.s. kids, too, because the kids would walk through in their costumes (the schools were in the same building)). And it was because ONE family complained that it was Satanic.

Damn...Like you say, heaven forbid they use it to TEACH THEM SOMETHING! I'm hoping at least ONE of the teachers explained where Halloween really comes from instead of perpetuating these ridiculous ideas of Halloween being the Devil's birthday...

I think half the fun of buying Priscilla was that Suncoast has all of their gay-themed movies in one spot, and one of the clerks kept giving me funny looks because I was enthusiastically digging through the stacks. :)

You know, the only thing that really would have made Priscilla, Queen of the Desert better would be the inclusion of this line:

"KNEEL! KNEEL BEFORE BERNADETTE!"

Terrence Stamp. So much to love.

There was a lockdown at my school today. That, of course, gave me and my classmates time to discuss what we'd do if the reason for the lockdown was, indeed, attacking zombies.
