Kerry Jabbing Bush With Multitasking Line -- "A president," Kerry says, "has to be able to do more than one thing at the same time." It's supposed to refer to Bush only seeming to care about national security during this election, which ... heh. (I'm reminded of O'Reilly, who continually yammers on his show that you need to vote this year for the candidate you think will protect us better. You know, we haven't had a terrorist attack in this country in three years. I'm worried, but not as singularly worried as he seems to be.)

Carnivals Offer Workers Free Dental Care -- The jokes make themselves.

The new guy playing Superman, Brandon Routh -- Eh. He needs better photos taken of himself, because I haven't seen one yet that hasn't made me wince a little, although he does seem to be awfully cute. He does have an official site, which I checked out of curiosity when his name first came up and which seems to be between homepages, probably so they can make a big "Wheeeeee! I'm Superman!" announcement. (They already have him listed for it on IMDb.) They did have Halloween pictures of him dressed as Clark Kent on his website before it went away, which were amusing in retrospect, and made you go, "Oh, now I see it." I still feel like writing Bryan Singer and begging him not to hire Mischa Barton to play Lois Lane. Just ... just NO.

49 Countries in Hunt for Foreign Oscar -- I post this link for no other reason than to squeal, "EEEEEE! Oscars in a few months!" *bounces up and down happily*

And now for trailer links ...

Noel -- Meh. The only thing I get out of this is that Penelope Cruz is really fucking hot.

In Good Company -- Not only does the story look pretty good, but Scarlett Johannson is gorgeous, I'd still do Dennis Quaid, and Topher Grace is a little puppy, isn't he? :)

A Very Long Engagement -- God, this trailer's beautiful. Plus, Audrey Tautou ... yay!

Hitch -- I'm still trying to decide if I really like this trailer, even though Will Smith's in it and I adore him. Plus, the pen thing is cute.

I read the novel last month...now I'm not afraid anymore. Not that I was really afraid in the first place, since Jeunet is a god (he says, having only ever seen Amélie), but now there's evidence.

(I still have no idea how it's going to work as a film, but it's going to be gorgeous.)

I read the novel back in undergrad... it seems like the movie might end up either 1) significantly more action-packed or 2) kinda talky. No debate about the pretty, though. That it certainly will be.

Routh has too many teeth and he looks like a chorus boy. But at least they didn't hire Hayden Christiansen. *shudder*

FYI, Your Hitch link takes me to A Very Long Engagement. Not that I don't want to watch the trailer.

I'm going to ignore the poor grammer and say the Very Long Engagement trailer is purdy. :)

i'm so excited for a very long engagement. isn't the director also the director of amelie/the delicatessen/the city of lost children, et al? because it is bound to be one of the more visually awesome movies ever if that's right. :D

*winces* Is Mischa Barton in for sure? The last I heard, it was still a tight race between her, Amy Acker, and Evangeline Lilly. On acting ability alone I would go with Amy, on the "look" of Lois Evangeline gains points, but I can't see how anyone would pick Mischa over the other two. All TWOP jokes aside, not only is she too young to be believable as a journalist in her late twenties/early thirties, but the girl can't act. It's a good day when she can enunciate.
