apocalypsosWell, it's not the fic I said I was going to write, and it was supposed to be a drabble but it's not, but it's still really short, and it's about the baby, who's probably going to die or get eaten or something with my fandom luck.
Anyway, Lost fic, just to keep me from wasting time I should be using to work on The Monsters of Minooka by writing a massive Lost-baby-fic.
Sam has more uncles than anyone ever should.
Uncle Hurley carries him around and tells him comic book stories like fairy tales, and trails after anyone who takes the baby like a faithful watchdog. Uncle Michael holds him in his arms and looks longingly at Walt when he does. Uncle Boone seems to use Sam more to scare Shannon with baby puke threats, but Claire never complains, not after she sees the way the attention makes Sam smile.
Uncle Charlie sings to the baby every night to get him to sleep, and lies not far away from them just in case. Sometimes he gives her a wicked look, then starts singing dirty pub chants that make her giggle and send Sam right to dreamland. Charlie was the first one to point out Sam had her nose, her ears, her contagious smile.
If Claire doesn't want him to just be Sam's uncle anymore, she's damn good at hiding it.
