Oct. 26th, 2004 10:54 amI love this article. Part of the reason I'm rooting for the Red Sox this Series is because of something that Mike pointed out on the Don & Mike show last week, which was that there are so many little old people in Boston who are die-hard fans and who literally just want to see them win a Series before they die. I just like that mental image of a roomful of old people waving banners and cheering. Hee. That's what'd keep me going if I were on the team.

Date: 2004-10-26 12:00 pm (UTC)Because if they win, I'll never have to hear about their stupid, sportswriter-invented curse again. Never again will I have to hear the litany of Bucky Dent, 1986, Babe Ruth, blah blah blah.
And finally, all those perfectly good players who gave their primes to that franchise- Ted Williams, Wade Boggs, Roger Clemens, Nomar Garciaparra- can finally get a stupid monkey off their backs. Though I think Williams and Clemens managed to do it on their own through sheer longevity and stubborness.
So go Red Sox! So I never have to hear you whining again.
Love,
blue
