Just got back from my second time seeing LXG. You know what? After seeing both the Nautilus and the giant car once again, I think Captain Nemo's perfectly justified in some gross overcompensation. Dude, if everyone were confusing me with an itty bitty baby clownfish, I'd overcompensate my ass off.

Hey TP! You know, the more time that passes...

between the now and the end of LXG, the more irritated with the movie I get. There were so many false starts and loose threads. What was the deal with the foreshadowing-of-nothing about Nemo worshipping Kali. (Remember when she was on HL? She's doomed to a B-grade life, I guess.) Also, they've got all of this technology, but can only distance-communicate by RECORDS? Uh, I don't think so. And it goes on and on. As I keep replaying it, I get irritated. I'm thinking I need to buy this just for the MST value.

Jean Marie made a good point, too, that I hadn't even thought about and which squicks me only because I could see it coming up in a sequel. Somebody took the invisibility formula, that one bad guy took Jekyll's formula to turn into a Hyde knockoff ... so who took Mina's blood?

And wasn't the director so overly addicted to title cards? Dude, we know it's 1899. And I think we can figure out where the hell we are from the landmarks and the dialogue, so give it a rest, all right?

But since Sawyer and Dorian were hotties, I could ... well, maybe not see it again, but definitely stare at the promotional photos and fru myself to death. :)
