Depends what I'm writing. When it's serious stuff, it helps when I'm sober, but the comedy comes out better when I'm a little buzzed.

I'm like my mom, in that I'll have a Smirnoff or two with dinner or lunch and then I can't have any for the rest of the day. I'm starting to think it's a genetic defense mechanism to keep from becoming an alcoholic, with our family history. *eye roll* Not that I'm complaining, mind you ...
