Well, that may be the first time I've seen the birth control pill issue make the front page of Yahoo. Of course, it still makes me want to become a pharmacist not only to give out birth control, but to keep from giving out Viagra.

Of course, the fun part is not just refusing Viagra across the board but asking if he's using it with his wife or because he's having an affair before you'll give it to him.

But Viagra's the only way these people will get birth control into the equation anyway.

I really want to see a McDonald's employee refuse to sell Big Macs because they're unhealthy, and then protest being fired because they "should not be forced to choose between their consciences and their livelihoods."

don't be a pharmisist.
several of my relatives risk horrifying pain should they miss 'the pill', and at what point do you get to say 'my religion prevents me from saving the lives of jews' or 'gays'?

pharmisists should have to take The Oath, and then be held accountable for that. don't like it? get another job.

wha.

What if a person needs it for hormonal reasons? Why are men making any of these decisions? What does a man know of abortion that he should have any opinion?

Well, you just know that if men got pregnant, birth control pills would be dispensed like Flintstone vitamins.

This is not the first time, babe.

There was a rape victim last year -- a rape victim -- let me say that one more time because I feel like screaming every time I have to say this -- a RAPE VICTIM who was denied the morning after pill because the pharmacist was morally opposed to it.

Time for the women to kick some, ladies.

see, the way I see it (and why I'd never be King), if Viagra is covered by your health plan / religion, then that same health plan / religion better damn well cover birth control, and I don't mean prayin' that the rhythm method works.

I read once that "if men could be pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament". But since they can't get pregnant, they obviously have a better understanding of all it entails than women. Right.

Ahem, at this rate I think it's best that I just sterilize myself. I wonder what the laws are for a woman to get her tubes tied, even though she hasn't had kids...

Don't blame me. I figure I have no say unless it is a relative or my kid. And even then, only if she is unconcious or otherwise unable to make her wishes known.

In America, there's no law against it. However, you'll probably encounter at least one idiotic loon of a doc who'd try and talk you out of it and pander to you. Just give him the finger and keep looking.

If the insaneos haven't taken them over, the childfree forums might have good advice on how to get a sane doctor.

Some doctors won't do it unless you've at least had kids once or there's a significant health risk that would make it dangerous.

That pisses me off more than anything else. *incoherent rage* These people are giving my profession a horrible image.

But on the plus side I went to a pre-pharmacy meeting at my university and the American Pharmacists Association rep that was giving a presentation suggested that if we'd have problems filling any prescriptions that people might give us that it might be a good idea to look into a different career path. I almost cheered.

The same reason docs will tell women that abortion dramatically increases a woman's chance of getting Breast cancer.

i do NOT know.

I just so want them all to go away to some backwater leper colony where their medicine is tech levels above the locale and they have to watch the consequences of their actions cause death.

As much as the "not delivering pill" issue freaks me out, I think there has been enough occurences of young women being firmly opposed to have kids, and changing their minds suddenly between 25 and 30 or later, that it would justify not accepting the operation if you can't go back.

If anything, there's been at least one of them in my family. So...

Bwahahahahahaahha.

"I'm sorry sir, I cannot give you this perscription for VIAGRA" (Yelling the last word to the whole store)

"Why not?"

"Because my morality and consicence do not allow me to knowingly or unknowingly assist in facilitating people cheating on their wives."

"How do you know I'm having an affair?"

"I've seen your wife, she comes in for her 'Anti-death-causing BO' pills every week."

"Oh..."
