apocalypsos: (suck)

Yeah, it only took me until two weeks into November, but I finally got off my lazy ass and compiled my NaNoWriMo playlist. (I usually have one for every story. It's either put on headphones and listen to story-appropriate music or be even more easily distracted than I already am. :))

Anyway, if anybody's curious ...

1. Rasputina -- Bad Moon Rising
2. The "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" Theme Song
3. The Rasmus -- Still Standing
4. 3-Day Monks -- Tombstone Train
5. AC/DC -- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
6. Armand van Helden -- Full Moon
7. Basement Jaxx -- Red Alert
8. Biff Naked -- I Love Myself Today
9. Richard Cheese -- Down With The Sickness (Well, come on. It's a zombie story. ;))
10. Oingo Boingo -- Dead Man's Party (I swear to God, I realized yesterday this is practically the theme song. It's the right amount of weird and silly. :))
11. Deadsy -- Gramercy Park
12. The Doors -- People Are Strange
13. Rob Zombie -- Dragula
14. E Nomine -- Vater Unser
15. G Tom Mac -- Cry Little Sister (remix)
16. Jump Little Children -- Close Your Eyes
17. Junior Senior -- Move Your Feet
18. Kazzer -- Pedal to the Medal
19. Kirsty McColl -- In These Shoes?
20. Marilyn Manson -- Personal Jesus
21. Muse -- Hysteria
22. N.E.R.D. -- Rock Star (Jason Nevins remix)
23. Rob Zombie -- More Human Than Human (Okay, so I have two Rob Zombie songs on here, Sue me. ;P)
24. U2 -- Vertigo
25. Warren Zevon -- Werewolves of London (Hee.)
26. Zed -- Renegade Fighter

A few of them are there mostly because they're dance music and it gets me in the mood to write action, but still. That's one more thing out of the way. :)

EDIT: And just because I haven't done one in a while, another bit from the novel, although it's not The Walking Dead of Wilkes-Barre, it's The Monsters of Minooka.

When asked if he ever ran, a wise man once said, "Only when chased." It's not all that bad a rule to follow. Then again, that wise man was Val Kilmer, who gave up showing off his natural comedic talent to make a bunch of crappy dramatic movies and butcher the role of Batman, so maybe his opinion shouldn't be trusted.

Richard Cheese! squee!

My NaNo playlist consists of 50/50 Leonard Cohen songs and the entire soundtrack to Jesus Christ: Superstar. On repeat. For two weeks now.

I don't understand why it works...

(I miss the boys from Zed. They got all famous and sold out made good and we don't get to hang out and eat Pez anymore. Although I do get the fond memories every time I eat Pez, which I suspect them of introducing here because I could never find them in shops until a few months after Ben started feeding them to us.)

Val Kilmer also lost a lit cigarette down the cleavage of some poor extra on Willow.
Don't ever trust the bugger.

Hells yes, I love Rasputina's cover of "Bad Moon Rising". It's awesome. *g* And "Cry Little Sister" never fails to give me chills, 'cause it reminds me of Witchblade and people getting killed.

So, yeah. Good list!

Any list that starts with Rasputina is a good list.

I didn't think that Val Kilmer butchered Batman too badly, but then a) I haven't seen that one since I was quite weeny, and b) that was the first Batman movie I saw, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. Funnily enough I didn't think George Clooney was so bad either, but maybe that was just in comparison to everything else in the entire movie, which sucked to high heaven.

Good to know I'm not the only one who does this. Maybe I need to compile mine.:D Some great song choices there.

I can't see blaming either Val Kilmer or George Clooney. No actor in the world could have saved those movies. Batman & Robin is my current pick for worst movie ever, and I have seen rather a lot of horrible movies.

I don't know most of the bands/artists on your playlist, and those that I do know, I haven't heard those songs. Sigh.

another bit from the novel
Your style is a great deal like Terry Pratchett's.

Ooooh, Muse. (And, embarrassingly, The Rasmus.)

I wanna read your books... /whine.

I adore Muse. Any band that does half an album about the end of the world is all right by me. :)

And I can't even begin to describe how much I want to get these published. Just ... gah. Need to write some more. (Especially considering I'm a few thousand words behind on my NaNo count. *sigh*)

Me too. I could be going to see them live in a couple of months, and I really do like them... but I hate concerts. Maybe I'll just go out on the highest bit of our scaffolding and listen to the album at full blast. :D

Even worse than Battlefield: Earth? Wow.

Yeah, I felt Val Kilmer didn't do a bad job at all as Bruce Wayne, and the real problem with those movies was Joel "I want it to be SHINY!" Schumacher. Besides, a great deal of stupidity could be forgiven for Kilmer's performance in Tombstone.

I've never seen Battlefield: Earth due to my extreme fear of John Travolta's chin.
