We're all familiar with those infamous "things I never want to see in a fanfic story again" lists. Sure, we all have mental lists of things that drive us crazy: bits of fanon that don't work with our ideas about canon, overused words, improbable scenarios, bad characterizations, etc. But what about the opposite? What are the things you want to see more of? (Even if other people think it's overdone.)

1. Well-written comedy -- And I'm not talking about slapstick comedy or anything, I'm talking about the same kind of silliness you get hanging out with friends. Heck, that's half the reason that most of the X-Men stories I write end up centered around the students ... because I can work with a bunch of troublesome teenagers who can cause even more trouble because they have superhuman abilities. That sets up a lot of funny situations. But, seriously, I desperately love to see more comedy all the time. Right now,

charlie_claire is turning out some really funny fics, but obviously, if you're not into admittedly shmoopy fic, you might not want to read them.

2. Fucked-up crossover pairings -- Well, duh. This coming from the chick who runs the Pairing List, right? ;) But, I mean, look at some of the stuff that's come out of

ithurtsmybrain. Hell, that Jack Bauer/Mirage story was freaking hot.

3. Apoca-fiction -- I don't care how the world ends, but when it does, I'll read the fic. There are so many fandoms I would love to see deal with the end of the world. You have no idea. I have enough fun as it is killing it off characters that I adore reading stories when everybody gets bumped off. ;)

4. Everybody gets superpowers -- There's a reason I adore the Everyday Superheroes Fanfic Challenge ... because I seriously think

phoenixchilde read my mind. Give some random character superpowers who hasn't had them before, and I'll devour that story.

X-Men/X-Men Movieverse

5. Bobby Drake is my kink -- I'll read anything Bobby. ANYTHING. I can't begin to describe how much I love that character. Making trouble with Hank is always especially fun, but seriously, I'll take anything. Screwing John, sweetly dating Rogue, driving Scott nuts ... anything, pick a plotline. *eg*

6. Jubilee as something other than comic relief -- Admittedly, I use her for quite enough comic relief on my own, but I firmly believe the character's got more potential than that. (And before anybody asks, I swear to God, as soon as I finish The Monsters of Minooka, I'm going back and finishing 'Cause Islands Are A Girl's Best Friend if it KILLS me. Or, you know, before some of you people do. ;P)

Terminator

7. Dear Santa, give me Sarah/Kyle AUs for Christmas -- Granted, I'll take any Terminator fic, especially considering the lack of anything worth reading on the Internet. But I am as always a hopeless romantic, and "I came back in time for you, Sarah" absolutely makes me swoon every time I watch the movie. So, you know, AUs, where Kyle lives long enough to see John get born and they get to live at least while in nice blissful, heavily armed harmony for a while before he ... I don't know, gets hit by a bus or something. I don't know, I'll just take any decently written Terminator fic, for God's sake.

8. John and Kate futurefic -- Oh, yes. Even though I think I'm the only one who genuinely liked T3, so I may be the only one who wants to write it, but, yeah. Mmmm. It gives me a happy just thinking of the possibility.

Jake 2.0

9. Crossover, crossover, crossover -- Send Jake anywhere ... I don't care. Have him work with Jack Bauer. Spend him on a special assignment and have him run into SVU. Let him work with Sydney Bristow. I don't even watch two of those shows, and I'd still read those stories. Jake could be a hell of a lot of fun in another fandom.

10. Jake/Diane fic -- But, you know, that goes without saying, because they're adorable together. :)

Charmed

11. Chris and Wyatt futurefic -- *eyes the people on my friends list who want a Chris-and-Wyatt spinoff* We may have to write our own fic for this. Or, you know, we could just write it for the hell of it. ;)

Lost

12. Why the hell are we here again? -- I want explanations why they're on the island. Wait, let me rephrase. I want fucked-up explanations why they're there. And not comedic ones ... I want completely serious stories to explain the crash and the Others and Ethan and everything. (Like Under the Twinkling of a Fading Star by

rheanna27. Oh, yeah. *savors*)

13. Babyfic in the far future on the island -- The stories with Charlie and Claire raising the little rugrat are nice, but I don't nearly see enough stories (or any stories, come to think of it) that explain why the hell Claire's baby is so damn important. I want to see a futurefic showing why Claire needed to raise the baby. (And before anybody asks, yes, I'm tempted to write that one, too.) And if he's an adult who's still stuck on the island (because everybody seems to save them before the kid grows up) ... well, let's see how he deals with the Others.

14. Explanations of Walt's powers -- I want to know, damn it. The kid may bug the piss out of me sometimes, and I'm starting to believe that much like Claire's baby, Walt needs to have Michael's influence on his life more than we think. But there's got to be a reason he can do the things he can do. (I'm not sure I want to believe "It was just fate" because that just seems way too random.)

15. AU madness --

teffy is writing a story on

domilie that features the cast as oversexed spies, and I'm loving every minute of it. We need more of that with the characters, damn it.
