You know, the news story about the baby that had to have a second head removed was creepy enough without an accompanying picture. And the second head smiled and blinked. ACK.

In other news, there's a newer Fantastic Four trailer. It's just got a couple of new clips and some extra dialogue to it, but I still don't think it looks that bad. Then again, I'm not as nitpicky with the Fantastic Four as I am with other comic book characters.

EDIT: Dear internal organs, whatever it is you think you're doing in there, STOP THAT. It's freakin' annoying, is what it is. Sheesh.

MY BROTHER EDIT: You know what I just realized is a week from today? The Oscars. *SQUEALS* Okay, now I'm happy. :)

AND THIS IS MY OTHER BROTHER EDIT: Dude, what is with all the crappy Lost fic that's been popping up lately? *eye roll*

I remember reading a book when I was a teenager - the Guinness Book of World Records maybe? - and finding references to other people with the same kind of condition. A man with a face on his forehead was the one I remember most vividly, even without an accompanying picture...

What creeped me out is that I've always been interested in seeing birth defects and genetic defects like that, and I've seen photos of that particular defect before, but I've never seen it look so lifelike before. GYah. *shudders*

I believe they said it was a conjoined twin, but that the brain was shared. So it's kind of unclear as to whether that was another person that they removed from her, but I'm (for my own sanity) leaning toward the idea that since the brain was shared, it's just extra tissue.

Was sick all day yesterday after seeing that. So awful.

This one of those moments when I realize that being raised by a Pathologist deeply affected me. I'm fascinated by it all. I have so many questions that I can't find the answers to.

ACK! That was a fully formed head! Did it have a fully developed brain, or only the basic neurological responses. Was it able to make eye contact?

I can't quite tell by the article, but it sounds like the other "twin" is on life support, can anyone else tell?

No, I think they were talking about a different twin. As in, one normal baby, and one baby with an extra head, which they removed. I'm guessing if they'd developed right, it would have been triplets.

And from the way they described it, it sure didn't seem like it had a fully developed brain.

I don't mind Cute and Fluffy Lost fic as long as it's well-written. I've seen at least four fics in the past week, most of them Charlie/Claire fics, that look like they were written by ten-year-olds. I seriously need to stop reading anything that says, "This is my first fic, so be nice!"

I read one the other day where Charlie told Claire he loved her, and literally five seconds later, she went into labor, had the baby, let Charlie name it, and gave it his last name. Uh, NO. There's a difference between sweet and "What the fuck is wrong with Claire?"
