Things I need to make a Hurley doll:

-- Brown curly doll hair
-- Needles and thread
-- Cabbage-Patch-Doll-like material
-- T-shirt material
-- Cotton stuffing
-- A little patch of black and grey material and some friendship-bracelet thread to make pants, a Discman, and headphones
-- Velcro and snaps, so he can actually wear the headphones and hold the Discman

Oh, jeez, I can't believe I'm seriously considering this. *head shake* Now I just have to go down to the bank and make sure that my paycheck isn't fucked-up again and actually got deposited this week.

How much of a dork does it make me if I'm making a Hurley doll? (Also, you know what made for some great continuity last night? I don't know if it was how they filmed him or how they dressed him or what, but Hurley didn't look as heavy in the present as he did in the flashbacks. Hee.)

EDIT: According to the bank, I have seven bucks in my account. According to Lieutenant Asshat, I got a deposit slip instead of a paycheck from the company.

Lieutenant Asshat had better be wrong about it being a fucking deposit slip. *seethes*

ha!

oh please PTB of the writer gods, dont let it be Hurley that dies. take captain Hero Jack(tm) instead. he has outstayed his usefulness.

Ahhhhh. Dude, I've never even seen Lost (though I promise I will when they show it here), and I think that would be the most adorable thing ever. Just from your occasional rants/icons. :)

If you do make a Hurley doll I will seriously pay you money for one. And hey, did you notice last night that Hurley apparently owned a box company. Y'know, like the one Locke works at maybe?

That was definitely Locke's company. The accountant even said it was in the same town Locke said he was from. (HEE.)

Also, if I make it, I'm so taking pictures of it every step of the way. *snerk*

MAN! How did you know that?? Is there some secret "All Knowledge of Lost" somewhere?

Sad thing about that? I didn't even notice until one of my roommates yelled out "BOX COMPANY! LOCKE!!" In my ear. Now I know how she feels when I scream in hers.

Re: Hurley plushie.

YAY! Pictures! I may even be able to make one without killing myself then. Squish!

Actually, material that would be good for a Hurley doll would be pantyhose. Seriously, I used to make my own dolls outta it all the time. You just stuff it to the right thickness, add detail with a few well-places stiches and a sharpie, and "voila!"

.......I was a weird child.

The original proto-cabbagepatch dolls were made from panyhose.

Good Lord! What is up with your employer!? I mean, one screwup could be attributed to a mistake, but what is this? Four? If they're having that many "mistakes" that only affect you (Captain Asshat is getting his paycheck, isn't he?) then this could be considered borderline discrimination.

And I may be wrong about the specifics in your area, but them screwing up your paycheck for this long and this many times *may* be grounds for a suit. Because they're essentially breaking contract re: refusing to pay you.

Well, as soon as I walked in the door, the first thing Lieutenant Asshat said to me was, "It's going into our accounts tomorrow morning," because they apparently pulled the same crap with him and we both thought they'd be in there today.

Well... That's not "good", but it's a marginially more tolerable situation. And the deposit slip means they were supposed to direct deposit it, right? They're supposed to send those out the same day that the deposit is made, not ahead of time.

Good luck.

I still have lurking in my comments notifications inbox the message with the link to the site selling fannish stuffed dolls -- specifically for the Frodo doll someone was showing off in her icon. Possibly by now the site is making Lost dolls as well -- but since they cost about $30, you might be happier making your own.

Since you're making one of those, I can admit I wanted to make a Charlie paper doll just so I could give him sparkly clothing and little paper guitars.

...I still want to do that. Damn it. *bites lip*

Let's make our dolls and just say we're very creative.

I just drew a pattern for my Hurley doll. And the thing I'm most proud of is that I've planned for him to have a Discman with headphones I can snap to his ears. *head shake*

Now you just need to figure out a way to make the Discman work, download all the songs he's played on the show, burn them to a teenytiny disc... or not. XD

It's called embroidery thread, and you can get all of that stuff at Michaels for reasonable prices.
