You know, I got into a conversation with the Grouch today about finishing the book, and he asked me what I was writing now, and I explained the whole thing with [livejournal.com profile] plan_9_from_lj. Then I started trying to figure out how many of my DVDs I could theoretically mock in the future, and after a quick head count on my DVD list, there's twenty movies on there that count as disaster movies. And I still plan on getting Daylight, Earthquake, and Alive.

Hee. The genre's full of such crappy movies, and yet, look at how much of it I own. ;)

I actually own Volcano, Dante's Peak, The Core and all four Airport movies. I know how you feel.

I own Volcano too. "What beats lava?" "MY DAD."

I don't own North, but I do love it unironically. For years, I've wanted to read the book, and maybe even musicalize it.

I love my crappy genre

I'll be purchasing She's Too Young tomorrow.

Lesson learned-give a hot junior a blow job and you'll get syphillis and embarrass your mother. Awesome.

Isn't that the point of loving a genre - not only having the good stuff, but having the crap to point and laugh at?

Yes, but the disaster genre is pretty much all crap. It's a beautiful thing. ;)

I'm hopefully going to see about picking it up this weekend when I pick up Finding Neverland. I'll probably save it for May, though, unless I get spare time this month.
