The penguins are winning

It's amazing how many of us have the same problem. Damn those space penguins!
(Which is presumably another way of saying, meh.)

Gotta watch out for those penguins.

I don't mind the dibs part - it prevents bottlenecks over certain movies - but it's the "one every month" that's killing me... or, more accurately, keeping me from playing. Maybe there could be more fresh blood with a "one every other month" category?

From previous experience, I have to say that making doing a review 'optional' you're going to end up with a huge number of people who won't contribute and soon have a community with no entries in it.

True. I'm really leaning towards just scrapping the genres and just having a post a week before the first of the month where anyone could say which movie they wanted to do, then giving them a deadline of the end of the next month. I know there are people who want to recap, but don't want to on such a permanent basis.

Hmm. It's a week before next month already. I should probably set up something before the end of the day if I'm going to do it at all.

Sounds like a good plan to me!

I actually like the genres myself, but that's because I managed to call my favorite genre of movies to make fun of. OTOH, I could see why people might think they were limiting, and it's not like I can't continue to recap vampire movies anyway. But I think posting requirements are actually going to be a necessity to make sure you continue to get posts.

You're so right--says she who didn't even see the April post calling for what movies we were going to do and therefore just assumed we were starting for May. I plead getting laid off and hired at a new job all in one weekend for my ignorance.

I refuse to answer this question, as I'm made entirely of cheese and the space penguins are throwing napalm at me again.

I just want to know one thing: Who took my space penguin repellent?
