Yay! The [livejournal.com profile] xmmficathon stories are going up! It's just like Christmas, except not. ;)

I don't think it needs to be said, but I really don't want to go to work today. If nothing else, I just want to avoid whatever condescending crap the Glorified Optimist is going to throw at me. And he won't even listen when I tell him exactly what I told the girl who gives me rides home every night -- he told me not to be on the Internet, and I had a text file open, for crying out loud. That, I might point out, I'd had opened when I'd come into work an hour early and just left up on my screen so as to make sure anybody who tried to use the computer wouldn't just casually throw it in the recycle bin. (Oh, that's been done before on my computer when I haven't been looking. RAGE.)

EDIT: From AICN ... RED-blooded director Brett Ratner is having his dream character written into the new "X-Men 3" movie. The mutant is, according to an inside source, "an unbelievably hot and sexy hooker. Her super power is that she secretes a pheromone that helps her to seduce men. She can seduce anyone." The source added the character has not yet been cast but, "they are open to all ethnicities who are in their early-to-mid 20s." Unknowns Kate Nauta and Aya Sumika are apparently auditioning.

Think there's any way you could pretend you're Canadian to get off work today?

Also, I must agree with you about that X3 casting news. That sounds like some sort of super-bad fanfic trope.

God, I wish.

And you'd think Mystique walking around naked all the time would be good enough, but apparently not. *eye roll*

Maybe it's a leverage thing... like, if Rebecca Romijn-Stamos asks for too much money, they can threaten to write her out of the script and give a fraction of what they would've paid her to the new character's actress...

Alright. I've been saying that Brett Ratner must be stopped for a while now. The Family Man? I was saying he must be stopped. Rush Hour 2? Yup. Red Dragon? Oh, then especially. I've been trying to tell you people, but would you listen? Now he has his hands on the X-Men franchise, and is apparently perfectly content to be a pawn of the Fox execs who are actively trying to kill it out of sheer spite. Dear god, the Revenge of the Sith parallels abound!

Suddenly, all of my misgivings about Kelsey Grammer have gone away. If this is true, Kelsey Grammer as Beast might be the best decision they've made so far.

Icon love.

I agree, this is not good.
I think it's no coincidence that I stopped reading the X books about the same time Stacy X showed up.

That X3 spoiler has got to be a joke, right?

. . .

*RIGHT??!?*

The only upside is that it makes me realize that the dumbshit contortions Smallville has been put through are nothing specific to SV or even WB.

I think I need to dust off my theory that some supervillain has an Evil Brain-Suppressing Device™ running in Hollywood. The particularly Evil thing about this Device is that the power of the field is amplified by testosterone.

It's called "cocaine" and it makes them very, VERY arrogant.

... *sigh*. There goes one of my main reasons for liking X-Men - fully developed female characters whose powers don't involve 'being sexy'.
(And actually, I once had a plot bunny that involved pretty much that same character. But it doesn't count if it was a bloke... right?)

The x-men comic had a character who could do pretty much -anything- with emotions. She once helped a terminally ill man experience no pain for the days until it took his body to shut down.

Of course (if this whole spoiler thing is true)...utrgh

Did someone in Hollyweird issue a cliche ficscript challenge?

Dude.

How long before we see a movie where the Duke brothers have to pretend to be "together"? Or Charlie encounters sex pollen at the Chocolate Factory?

That would be awesome hysterical bad. Very, very bad. *serious nod*

Seriously, though, I just have my fingers crossed that this is all a big ruse to distract us from how awesome X3 is going to be.

Yep, Egypt sure is nice this time of year.

I plan on buying a ticket for X3 just so I can read the "SCREENPLAY BY: MARY SUE RATNER" credit as it scrolls by.

Help me, trollprincess! I'm drowning in cliche!

You know what would make that a decent character? If the 'super sexxay' mutant power was bestowed upon someone fugly. OR male. OR okay looking, but not a knockout, and generally not someone you would expect to have this particular power. Or if to express it, they had to stand in the least sexy pose EVAH (I'm seeing something in a wide-legged squat).

I dunno. It just makes me rage.

She "secretes" it via monstrous farts. Who knew methane could be that sexxay!

Desiree Atkins? Is that where you turned up when you escaped from Smallville's crappy little prison by seducing your guards?

Stacy X was more sane then the other X-Men at the time.

Iceman was all 'OMG boobies' and Angel was 'OMG Boobies' and Nightcrawler was 'I've lost every single moment of battle experience ever'.

I actually didn't mind Stacy all that much (and was furious with Austen for the incredibly lame way he hastily got rid of her so she wouldn't be the Evil Temptress in the way of Angel/Husk's Pure Twue Wuv anymore). But putting her in the movie instead of, I don't know, one of the other X-Men who've been known and loved for DECADES, and tying Chuck Austen in any way to movie canon or acknowledging that his X-Men run has been anything more than my long terrible nightmare...that gives me the screaming horrors.

Maybe Moira MacTaggart will show up, give Stacy a lecture (or a beating, I'm not picky), and it'll have just been a red herring to freak us all out. ;_;

See I like Stacy X (if for nothing else the "Oh look, a jumprope!" incident) but having her in the movie is gonna LOOK like pandering regardless if pandering happens or not so...no.
