Jul. 14th, 2005 10:19 pmAccording to this, Charisma Carpenter and Steven Guttenberg are joining the cast of Veronica Mars next season.
AAAAAAAAH.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
*flails*
Is it shameful to admit that I'm equally thrilled by both of them? Because I love Charisma, but I have a dorky soft spot for Steve Guttenberg. And Charisma's playing Dick and Beaver's stepmom! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Just trying to picture Dick and Beaver around her just ... *dies giggling*
In a related story, you know that remake of The Poseidon Adventure that they're making for the big screen, and it totally looks like they're fucking it up from the casting? Well, guess what? They're making a TV miniseries remake of The Poseidon Adventure for next year, and it looks fucking awesome. And dude, Adam Baldwin is playing the tough cop part and it looks like Rutger friggin' Hauer is playing Superpriest. (Then again, it could be Bryan Brown playing Superpriest, in which case, YAAAAAY. Actually, that sounds more likely. YAAAAY. Bryan Brown and Adam Baldwin bickering for control. *swoons* Okay, maybe I'm swooning at the thought of Thorn Birds-era Bryan Brown doing the bickering, but still ...) And they've got to be following the book, because that VM casting spoiler from above is playing the dad of the two kids. (Although I doubt they'll follow the book to the letter and let the teenage daughter get raped in mid-disaster or have the kid fall into a hole and die, but I can dream, damn it. Okay, so maybe not about the rape storyline, which was stupid, but still.) And Peter Weller's playing the Captain! HEE!
Don't mind me. It's just ... this is my favorite movie, damn it. I don't want it too badly screwed up. But I have a feeling I'm going to adore the miniseries version.
Adam Baldwin playing the Ernest Borgnine part. Being all loud and angry and ordering people about. *happy sighs*
*shifty eyes* I'll be in my bunk.
EDIT: He's playing a homeland security agent. They're giving him a gun and putting him in a nautical disaster. OMG, I have porn in my head that starts just like this.
OTHER EDIT: Look, there's a trailer! On one hand, terrorists ... meh. On the other hand, look at the big ship flip over! WHEEEEEEEEE!

Re: !!!!!!!
Date: 2005-07-15 02:55 am (UTC)I just put on my copy of The Poseidon Adventure and realized during the credits that the captain in the miniseries is named Gallico after the author of the book. Not even made yet, and I already love it. :)

Date: 2005-07-15 03:30 am (UTC)Is it me, or should "Oh my God! We're upside-down!" be the official tagline for the miniseries? XD
Re: !!!!!!!
Date: 2005-07-15 03:32 am (UTC)I don't think I'll be happy unless the teenage girl takes off her skirt at one point and is wearing hot pants underneath. Because nothing, and I mean nothing, would be more lovably meta. ;)

Date: 2005-07-15 03:46 am (UTC)Should I be proud of the fact that I've played a videogame that has had hot pants (spelled 'hawt pants' on the object itself) as an equippable item, or very quietly ashamed? Oh, Star Wars Galaxies, what a strange beast you are.

Re: !!!!!!!
Date: 2005-07-15 03:56 pm (UTC)I cried for two hours solid after reading Jeannie.
(It was only fairly recently I discovered he'd written The Poseidon Adventure. Keep on meaning to find a copy of the book.)
