As if I didn't already know it, today has taught me that editing my novels is much like making chocolate chip cookies -- once it hits a certain stage, I'm not as enthused.

*pokes novels with a sharp stick, orders them to edit their own damn selves*

If you're editing the one you just wrote, you know the advice usually is to wait before editing. I've heard of everything from 1 month to 1 year. By then, you actually see what you wrote, rather than what you KNOW you wrote, which may not be exactly what you DID write.
If ya know what I mean.

No, no, this one is the one I write a while back and haven't touched in ages. I've already changed the entire first chapter, and I have a feeling the rest of it is going to get royally gutted as well.

i have the same problems making cookies...ill get the dough made, and then not want to actually waste time making them..which might have to do with the fact that i usually make them just to eat the dough, but thats not the point.

i would give you usual advice regarding editing, only i dont have any..except, sometimes, to keep myself getting caught up in the story or essay, ill read it backwards to catch misspellings and grammer errors.
