You know what's the best work-related thing ever? Officemax ordering errors in your favor. Oh, yes. *cuddles new quad notebook, packages of highlighters in every color, and retractable Sharpies tightly*

And in today's Adventures in Phoning My Mother, I got to listen to my mother complain about how it's record heat up by them and my father went swimming even though he totally hates to and the heat fried the telephone wires in their house, only to find out that their record heat is about seven degrees cooler than it is here. I don't know what the hell it says about me that I was looking over the average temps for NEPA today to see what the weather would be like during my trip, saw a row of 77 degrees across the first week of August, and thought, "ACK! I'm going to freeze!"

Acclimatization is a wonderful thing. I remember arriving in London in early August 1999 when they were apologizing for the heat and I was wearing jeans and a light jacket because we'd had a record-breakingly hot summer in Dallas and it was about 20 degrees cooler than the weather I'd come from. (In London, "hot" is in the 80s and no one owns shorts unless they regularly vacation in sunny places.)
