The Ringer -- Johnny Knoxville tries to rig the Special Olympics. I just ... *sigh* Watching that trailer makes me want to fly to Hollywood and punch everyone I see in the face.

The Family Stone -- It's got Sarah Jessica Parker in it. Meh. She manages to make me feel indifferent about a comedy with Luke Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Diane Keaton, who are three people I really like in movies.

Just Friends -- Ryan Reynolds was a geek in high school and now he looks like ... well, Ryan Reynolds. Awww. (And I say that even though I officially loathe the use of fat suits in movies.)

The Squid and the Whale -- I'm not the only one creeped out by the thought of Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin on a date when they played father and daughter in Fly Away Home, right?

Good Night and Good Luck -- Edward R. Murrow and company go after Joe McCarthy. And remember, folks, that last remark in the trailer is not pointed at ALL.

Green Street Hooligans -- Elijah Wood hanging out with soccer hooligans. Just the mental image of him beating people up makes me giggle.

Brokeback Mountain -- Because really, that trailer cannot be linked enough. Mmm-hmm. (The other day, I was discussing movies with the cable guy while he hooked up my TVs, and I spent ten minutes trying to explain how I was trying to be an adult about how good this movie is supposed to be and usually all I can think is "Jake and Heath making out! SQUEEEEEEEEE!")

Capote -- I'm pretty sure I didn't link this one yet, but it's Philip Seymour Hoffman playing Truman Capote as he researches the case behind In Cold Blood. (Which, if you haven't read In Cold Blood, you should add to your reading list.)

Where The Truth Lies -- If I'm remembering correctly, this is the movie with the threesome scene with Kevin Bacon, Colin Firth, and Rachel Blanchard. (I think.)

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang -- Oh, please tell me that's Val Kilmer actually letting himself be comedic. He's good in comedies, damn it.

You're right about Where the Truth Lies-poor Atom Egoyan. I'm not sure he's thrilled, given his body of work, to have this movie best known for the threesome scene.

It actually looks excellent. Egoyan makes heartwrenching movies.

You might like Family Stone in that SJP is the girlfriend who comes home to find out everyone in the family hates her.

And it's based on a superb novel, too.

Cartman already did that on South Park. It wasn't really funny then, and making a whole movie about it with real people? Not funyn now.

Can I go punch them too?

You must not have seen Sin City, then :)

No, I saw Sin City. But there's a difference between him in that and him in this. I mean, look at him in that trailer. He looks like an out-of-place twelve-year-old. HEE.

As he is playing a gay character, i really wish I could think of a single decent thing to say about Val Kilmer, but I can't I just can't.

One of the many, many reasons I decline to watch Forrest Gump is Forrest's mom, Sally Fields, once played Tom Hanks' girltoy in a previous movie.

Ryan Reynolds: best comedic timing on the planet. He just can't help being funny.

Yup, he's funny, AND he's hot. The newest TV trailer for Waiting has one of the girls asking something about male nudity right before they show him with his tank top pulled up to show off his hipbones. I damn near keeled over and died.

Waiting: also on my list to see if for no other reason than because I swear to God the cooks at my first job would do that shit to customers who were mean to staff. And the hot, naturally. Rawr.

I was feeling a little guilty about thinking the Waiting trailer was funny until tonight, when my mother told my cousin that they had to go see it. And also, when I realized that if it's done right, it'll be the Office Space for fast-food workers, past and present.

The sad thing is, The Ringer was supposed to come out a year ago; I first saw the trailer for it in spring of 2004. So not only is it a crappy-looking movie with a wholly unfunny premise, it's one that they either tried to retool after test audiences hated it, or shelved until there were hard-up for anything to put in the theaters.

I am really excited about this one. Of course, part of it is my bias since my department at college is named after Murrow.
