On Discovery Health, they're showing the autopsy what has to be a ten-pound growth taken from the stomach of a little boy that was a parasitic twin and is mostly just a big deformed ball of skin and hair.

I've spent the past ten minutes alternating between saying, "EWWWWW!" and "COOOL!" as loud as possible.

EDIT: For some ungodly reason, I have landed on Not Another Teen Movie. And okay, I've never seen this movie before, and it's obvious crap, but it won me over simply for the fact that they had one of those obnoxious prom dance sequences where everybody just magically does all the same steps and some schmuck on the sidelines says, "Wow, you'd never know every student at this school is a professional dancer." Considering how much I loathe those sequences in any movie ... BWAH!

Ugh, I saw that... it weirded me out for a good hour. That and the show that they have on one of those channels (Discovery or TLC or something) about the little girl born with some kind of disorder where she had almost no facial bones. I saw that and was convinced that I was going to have nightmares for weeks.

Damn! Was that show called "Born Without a Face"? Discovery Health has these shows I'll see on the Guide thingy, like, "Face-Eating Tumor" and other sensitive titles, and that's one of them. I actually did watch "Face-Eating Tumor." That was something else.

Yeah, those and "The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off" when he wasn't even a boy. He was 36. I watched that one.

From the ad: "That's me in the box."

Yikes.

Oh, that's a new name for me. I wish I could remember more of the names. Let me go look at the site....

Face-Eating Tumor
Born Without A Face
Born With Two Heads
Face Transplant
Super Obese

There's also "I Am My Own Twin," which is about chimerism and was really cool. Also throws into doubt the accuracy of DNA tests....

It is okay to like "Not Another Teen Movie". I don't know why, but it's just one of those things.

And now I'm alternating between 'ewww' and 'cooool' at the thought.

...the weirdest things give me the urge to go bury myself in a pile of books. Curse you, library, why can you not be open at eleven o'clock at night?

Things like that make me want to go to TheFetus.net and try to guess what horrible affliction the fetuses have. It's a medical site for obstetricians to test themselves, and it's like a crash course in becoming a sonographer. It's awesome. Most of the cases have photos of the end result that are both educational and icky.

(In a side note I thought you might appreciate, last night I saw my first episode of Full Metal Alchemist. I'm not a big anime fan, but that was kinda neat, actually. :))

Oh god, now I'm torn. I want to check this site out because that sounds so cool, but on the other hand I haven't eaten today. Oh, hell, screw it.

(That... really amuses me. :D It's really such a good show, even for people who aren't hard-core anime fans. Really well-written and well put together.)

The only reason I got 'Not Another Teen Movie' was because I went to high school with the gal on the toilet. (That is a sentence rarely written ever).

I paid five bucks for it and it was worth every penny

Every once in a while, I try and watch Full Metal Alchemist. All I get out of it is that the little blonde psychopath is doing all the hard work that the blue army guys can't or won't do

Once when I was working in the pathology lab we got a nice teratoma in -- an ovarian tumor with hair growing in it. Extra-disgusting since the inside of the growth had this cheesy goo. No teeth, though my boss said they see those sometimes.
