... is that I end up passing along a big old clump of fanfic recommendations at once. Heh. :) (Some of this stuff I've already recced, but some of it just can never be recced enough.)

Of Dog and Chimp -- If you haven't read this yet, why the heck not? Because it's a Sirius Black/George W. Bush aneurysm-inducer from [livejournal.com profile] ithurtsmybrain? No excuse! Go now and experience the mental agony.

One Big Happy Pantheon -- I rec this constantly, but seriously, it's a Dogma/Good Omens crossover, for Pete's sake, and it's just as funny as you'd think it is. Every time I read it, I just about die laughing.

Office Hours -- The movieverse versions of Peter Parker and Hank McCoy work together to help an ailing mutant. Dude. Dude. I just can't begin to describe how much I love the thought of those two working together.

The Talk -- Firefly fic in which Mal decides to have THAT talk with his ship full of romantically-attached crew. The reactions are so dead-on for the characters, it's unreal.

The Best Part of Breaking Up -- Barbie and Ken have broken up, and Ken is having problems dealing. Yes, THAT Barbie and Ken, and it's just as fucked-up as you'd think. *giggles*

Geek of Steel -- The best Jake 2.0 story I've ever read. Oh, yes. *nods solemnly*

A Beautiful Lifetime Event -- I asked for good MPREG recs, I got this. Which isn't MPREG, per se, but is close enough to count and wonderful to boot. And I don't even watch SGA, but I still maintain an infatuation with McKay/Sheppard which is pretty strong for someone who doesn't watch. Probably because they're like puppies, y'all.

Seeds -- You know how sometimes you read a fanfic, and it completely changes the way you see a fandom? And from the moment you read it, it's like it's actual canon? Yeah, this was like that. I couldn't watch Highlander the same way after reading this.

The Godless Among Them -- One of my favorite XMM fics ever. To this day, Annie Creed is one of those original characters in fic that I can always go back and read and be hopelessly amused by her antics. Heh. Sabretooth never knew what hit him.

First, Do No Harm -- Every once in a while, I go back and read this story which is basically a bunch of emails between Bobby and an in-hiding Hank. And I start out the story laughing hysterically, and end it bawling my eyes out. Oh, my favorite mutant boys. *cuddles them*

Beyond the Sea -- The story that sold me on Shannon/Hurley, which I still occasionally think would have been so friggin' cute. (Somebody get Hurley laid on that show, for crying out loud. So far, only the pretty people have gotten laid, and poor sweet Hurley's getting shafted. On the other hand, you have sex on the island and you die, so maybe it's better he's not getting any.)

Under the Twinkling of a Fading Star -- I love this Lost story so much, because it hits at least one of my hardcore fic kinks. And it does a great job of getting me to love Jack. (Although if my only contact to Jack was through fic, I think I'd adore him. People who love Jack and write about him give him a hell of a lot more depth than he's got on the show.)

Sawyer's Book Club -- Sawyer opens the island lending library, and it's just as much trouble as you'd think. Some awesome interaction between Hurley and Sawyer in this.

Never Let Me Down Again -- Just a short little VM fic about Wallace and his feelings about being Veronica's friend.

Hollywood Makeover -- After the end of the first season, the VM gang bonds over the cheesy television schlock about the past year. I could so see all of the characters behaving just like this, and the image of Duncan running around the Mars apartment with Readi-Whip on his mouth makes me giggle.

The HMS Save My Rich Pasty Ass Please, Wallace, or Wallace the Magnificent -- Wallace saves Logan (in a way) that night on the bridge. God, I love the way this plays out.

I Have a Bad Feeling About This -- It's Sawyer, and his fascination with Star Wars, and ... and .. just read, damn it.

Violet World -- An AU world in which Veronica was murdered and it's Lilly searching for her killer. And it works so freaking well.

One Flew Over the Echolls Nest -- Thirty-five hours in a box with four walls and no alcohol and Logan thinks he’s slowly going insane. Logan's in a mental institution following Aaron's arrest, and it's fucked-up and weird and wonderful.

The Definition of Nice -- I feel so sorry about Deputy Leo when I rewatch the first season, because he really is a nice guy. This fic is a great demonstration about why I do want to give him a great big hug.

Future Imperfect -- It's always nice to know I'm not the only one writing Terminator fic, and I adore the crap out of this one. It's a fabulous way of tying together everything that happens so that Kyle and John get a little father-and-son time.

Where Roots Will Grow, There Has To Be Some Magic, and No Time Like the Present -- An amazing series in which Kyle does survive the first movie, and he and Sarah get married and go off to raise their son in a small town. No, of course it's not that easy. Also, the Kyle-and-Tiny!John bits kill me.

Children of War -- Futurefic with Logan and Veronica reconnecting, and it gives me warm fuzzies even when it's all dark and angst-ridden.

Escape Routes -- Veronica helps Logan escape from a tight situation, from the Worst-Case Scenario challenge. Not only is it well-written, but it's hot, too. :)

Crossing the Bridge -- Madison discovers the truth about the baby switch with Mac when her little sister needs a kidney transplant. She has about as bad a reaction as you can imagine, but the whole story is a great read and feels right. (That's a link to the last part, but the earlier parts are linked there.)

Ashes, Ashes -- Dude, Angel/The Stand crossover. Do I really need to elaborate on the coolness?

The Jaynification of River -- I don't know when the hell I became a River/Jayne shipper, but the thought of them together, even if they aren't having sex and just hooking up to kill people, is just too hot.

Planned Obsolescence -- Poor Jack Harkness, left behind on that satellite. And this is a wild, wicked possibility about what happens next.

Brian Kinney Saves the Universe -- QAF is another show I've never seen, and yet I know the characters really well because fandom is like that. And if I ever see the gay marriage debate brought into a fic any better than this, I will be incredibly surprised.

The Long Road -- It's Jack/Kate, and ... what? What's that look for? Yeah, I'm reccing Jack/Kate. Shut up. Look, it's really good, okay? It's futurefic after they get off the island, and any story that can make me like both Jack AND Kate at the same time deserves a read. (The first eight chapters are through that link, the final chapter is here.)

That Old Slippery Slope -- Well, honestly. HOT OMG. Dean gets turned into a girl, and he keeps playing with his boobs, and it's horribly distracting Sam. And really, that is so how Dean would act if he were turned into a woman. *snerk*

Sugar, We're Going Down -- Incredibly hot Jensen/Jared RPS. Yeah, I don't know. I'm never that big into RPS at all, but this is like Wincest without the brothers thing. So just "Wuh," then. ;)

The Lost Boy -- Sammy wants to make a friend at his new school, and it turns out about as well as you'd expect. The story does a great job of showing how Dean and John's close relationship could have led to Sam feeling like the outsider later on.

A Stand-Up Man -- Just Sam and Dean on the road being all brotherly and snarky. The dialogue is snappy and hysterical, and the boys are both very in character.

EDIT: Professor loses weight with no-diet diet -- *mind is boggled* Dude, that's exactly the way that I eat. I eat whatever the hell I want, I just don't eat until I'm hungry enough. Hell, I had nachos for breakfast. My only problem is I just need to exercise more to tone up, but since I'd rather take long walks or play basketball or swim, it gets understandably difficult in the winter.

OMG! (And isn't that such a ditzy fangirl way to start a comment) I'm so thankful I found you!!! The Good Omens/Dogma crossover...does it get any better than that??!! I didn't even know such a thing existed, but in my world, nothing could be happier than Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman and Kevin Smith in the same room. Or some semblence of that... :)

And the SPN fics...those will be motivation for doing some work. Then I get to read pretty fics about pretty people. :)

HEE! Honestly, that crossover is the best thing EVER. I would never have thought of it, and then I read it and it's so freaking perfect. :)

Man, I would totally do the no-diet diet. Since I'm rarely hungry, it would definitely work. However, stupid college with stupid meal plan with stupid dining commons that are only open during stupid hours would totally screw me over.

PS: Now I must kill you because I promised myself I would never read Wincest. And I enjoyed it. Damn.

*snickers* Well, I can't help it, dude. I love that story. Reccing it's become a spastic condition with me. I may need to see a doctor. ;)

Ah, fucking meal plans. One of the main things I hated about college. I'm pretty sure the schedules and locations for my dining halls were the main reason for my freshman twenty.

And let me tell you, if the people writing Wincest weren't so damn good at it, I wouldn't have this problem of reading it, either. I'd just stick with Jensen/Jared RPS, even though I've never much liked RPS, because I just need to see those two make out somewhere other than in my head.

Thirding the meal plan hatred. It's fattening, it's served buffet-style, and you're required to sign up for it if you're in college housing! I'm studying abroad in London right now and cooking for myself. I'm really not looking forward to the food when I get back.

Amen. My school had french fries with gravy or cheese served at EVERY meal, including breakfast. And gravy fries are something I can never pass up. I always convinced myself that if I only took a tiny bit, it wouldn't be so bad, but when you're usually eating two small servings a day, it added up.

That Barbie one is awesome.

And I was going thank you for linking to Hank/Bobby I hadn't read, and then I read the thing, and now I'm crying ...um, thank you.
