apocalypsosSo I just watched the X3 trailer ...
1. Well, it only took them three movies to give Storm a good wig. Correction, a great wig. I really do like it, and you know why? Because unlike the others, it has differing tones in it. Hell, that's why hair you dye at home doesn't look half as decent as hair you get dyed in a salon, and with white hair, it just looks fake if you don't do something like that.
2. Beast does not look half as bad as I was afraid he might, and it certainly helps that he's not doing a massive amount of snarling. Otherwise, I would have to go and kick the director's ass. But I'm giving it leeway because we still haven't heard him talk (and if anybody can do Hank's voice, I believe in Kelsey Grammer at least that much), and remember when the first movie came out, and they had those first production stills of Wolverine, and so many people were like, "Bwuh?!" I'm hoping any leftover tentativeness about him playing Beast is like that. The makeup is good enough for me if he can pull off the acting. (I mean, let's face it -- how realistic is Beast going to look?)
3. I got all excited and squeally and "OMG ICON NOW!!!" when they showed that shot of everybody sitting together at that funeral, and I could have sworn Hank was sitting next to Bobby, and I couldn't pull up my image capture program fast enough ... and it was Peter, not Bobby. *sigh* There had better be some goddamn Bobby/Hank buddy moments in this movie or the filmmakers and I are going to have words. Four-letter ones, said loudly and angrily as I punch them in an uncomfortable place. That's my completely non-sexual X-Men OTP, people.
4. Angel's wings are pretty. So there. And Ben Foster is growing on me. I know he's a good actor, but my first thought when they cast him was, "But he doesn't look anything like Warren!" And then I thought of the first movie, when the first photos of Hugh Jackman came out after they hired him, and it was him in street clothes not buffed up yet, clean-shaven, smiling brightly, and wearing a baseball cap. It didn't do a hell of a lot to make anybody happy. (Sometimes I think I'm the only one who remembers that up until the first trailer for the first movie, everybody was giving Hugh Jackman shit for not being good enough, and look how that turned out.)
5. No, Bobby! Don't go after Kitty! I know she's cute and safe, but come on! Have a little faith. You're screwing up my cute young team member OTP, you little dumbass. *cuddles Bobby anyway*
6. Is it bad that I saw Jubilee in the back of an SUV in a trailer full of post-apocalyptic-looking goodness and thought, "But she's supposed to be driving and it's supposed to be a Hummer!"? HEE.
7. Yay! Jean's back! Which I knew already, really, but it can't be stressed enough. :)
8. Yeah, really, did I mention the post-apocalyptic-looking goodness? Are they trying to kiss my ass? Is that what this is? Because it's working, let me tell you.
9. I continue to wish this were a TV show with equal quality and the same cast, because I need this crack so very, very badly on a regular basis even when I'm not sure it's going to be any good.
10. The cameos, as usual, are going to kill me. They're going to goddamn kill me.
11. May 26th ... May 26th ... *checks work calendar* ... YAAAAAY! I have that day off! I can totally do what I did for the second movie where I went to the very first showing and then bought a ticket for the very next showing in the exact same theater so that I wouldn't have to leave my seat! *flails*
EDIT: 12. Oh, God, I just realized Colossus's uniform has bare arms. GUH.
