I have never in my life seen anything behave so much like an actual Tigger on crack until, after looking through the chinchilla care book and going to Petsmart and looking around, I bought Emmett hay. To which his reaction was to squeak, "YOU BOUGHT ME WEED!" and literally bounce off every wall of his cage before chowing down.

Heh. My chinchilla's a pothead, Focker.

Not until I can either get a new computer or get this one fixed. The stupid thing won't download photos from my camera at the moment. *glares at it*

Aww. Chinchilla looveee.

First time I bought my rabbit alfalfa he sneezed, fell over, and proceeded to have a major allergy attack. I kill with kindness.

I have always wanted a chinchilla. They are like my cute animal dream. But how interactive are they on a scale of fish to puppy?

Thanks! ;)

I put it that way because I think I killed my fish by paying too much attention to it and puppies, though cute, need so much attention that a day with them kills me.

I am a cat owner right now, but I think that my apartment is too small for him to be really happy.

Cats don't really need room. They are smarter than dogs, so they need company. Either people around or another cat. They act aloof and like they don't need anything, but unlike dogs they are smart enough to know that they are alone and they remember that. A dog may be miserable being alone all day but the moment you walk in the door their tiny brain immediately forgets that they were miserable.
Cats don't forget anything. Ever.
So they don't need much space if they have a companion or stimulating entertainment/toys.
Except my cat, Lump. She has perfected the art of sleeping 25 hours a day, and she despises all small humans and all other furry creatures.
Oh, and the limited room thing? Since a cats world also includes up high, a cat tree can be a very good thing. If tall enough it can give a cat a lot more play area while only taking up a little bit of floor area.
heh. I just glanced back at what I wrote and realised that I am in full on babble mode today... sorry. :) Apparently today I am closer to puppy than fish!

True, true I did move my cat from a three cat household to a one kitty apartment. I might just have to find him something very tall to climb on so he can lord over me and my roomie.

Hahahaha! My guinea pigs act similarly when I give them Timothy hay. Your description is entirely apt!
