Aquamarine -- Two girls find a mermaid in the swimming pool. Which I should point out is vaguely the same plot as M. Night Shyamalan's next movie, and that one's got Paul Giamatti and Bryce Howard going for it.

Doogal -- A shaggy dog has to save the world. Jon Stewart's one of the voices! The downside is, so is Whoopi Goldberg.

Fateless -- A 14-year-old boy trying to survive during the Holocaust.

Tamara -- An unpopular girl who's been practicing witchcraft dies during a prank and comes back from the dead to exact revenge. Dude, there is not enough headdesk in the world.

See No Evil -- Kane from the WWE playing a serial killer. Ooo-kay.

Friends With Money -- Jennifer Aniston's a maid, and all her friends are rich. Wow, what a horrible problem. *eye roll*

Americans understand English and yet The Magic Roundabout gets 1) a new name 2) a name that isn't even spelt correctly (Dougal is the dog's name Doogal is ..fuck knows) and 3) several new voice actors.

Huh. This is gonna be as odd as the Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone thing. One is something that has a history behind it, the other made up or dumbed down because US film and entertainment seems to think it's necessary. I think American people can handle the original names, surely?

I know you don't know me from Adam - I was directed to your LJ through crevette.

I just wanted you to know that I get a kick out of reading your journal entries. AND, that as I was driving past one of the BIG-ASS cemetaries in Vancouver, I saw a movie crew filming in the centre - it was really eerie, big lights in the centre of all that darkness - then I saw the movie directional signs (used to direct crew to parking etc). A big 'SN' was printed on the directional arrow. Yep - Supernatural was filming in the middle of the graveyard. And you were the first thought that popped into my head.

This isn't the first time it's happened - I work in film in Vancouver - and actually dropped resumes off with The 4400 and Supernatural last week...

Anyways - though you might get a giggle out of the fact that your humour has struck WAY across the continent - keep it up!
