So the office is cleaned, and I moved in the entertainment center my aunt and uncle gave me with absolutely no help from the chinchilla. Stupid chinchilla. He doesn't make me sandwiches, he doesn't help me move furniture ... he's lucky he's cute, or he sure as hell wouldn't be earning his keep around here.

Then I went through the DVDs that have piled up around my TV, and I know it's been a long time since I've done that since Frequency was sitting around still and I haven't watched that since December when I needed to watch it for my Yuletide story.

If I wish really, really hard, maybe my dishes will wash themselves. It's never worked before, but there's a first time for everything.

I went to see The DaVinci Code yesterday. Meh. It was tolerable without the mind-numbing prose, but if I'm going to watch a historical-secret-society-and-their-magnificent-treasure movie, I'd rather watch National Treasure. Meanwhile, movie theater people? Perhaps following the World Trade Center trailer with the trailer for The Omen was a bad idea.

I need to buy another DVD stand. I had to take out all of the TV DVD sets just to fit the rest into the three stands I've got.

My work shift starts today. BAH.

I saw DaVinci code too and it was lackluster. I never made it past the first page of the book (having in a very similar fashion to you experienced a sudden lightness in my hands and thud against the opposite wall when I went to turn the page), but was still able to guess all the major plot points in the first 10 minutes of the movie. Even the promised Paul Bettany ass was not enough to make me mildly enjoy the film.

My theater did something similar with the trailers. If by similar you mean playing World Trade Center followed by Cars followed by The Omen. Exactly who do they think was going to see DaVinci?

Sometimes I think I'm the only person who really liked National Treasure. That was geniunely a fun movie, which is something you can't say about many movies these days.

I'd take that over DaVinci code in a heartbeat.

Amen. It wasn't the most brilliant movie in the world, but it wasn't supposed to be, and it was a blast to watch. At least that cast looked like they were having fun, which is more than I can say for The DaVinci Code.

Sounds like something I would hear about myself. :P
