Okay, for some ungodly reason I'm watching the 100 Funniest Movies list, and it's still pissing me off.

So name me your favorite funny movies. Not the best comedies, but the movies that make you laugh hysterically every time you see them.

My favorites?

The Princess Bride, which is one of my three favorite movies of all time, if we're counting the Terminator series and the "Irwin Allen's Attempt to Destroy The Planet in the '70s In Three Crappy Disaster Movies" trio of death and destruction as one movie each.

Arthur, because that movie keeps me laughing for two straight hours without fail.

A Fish Called Wanda, because Kevin Kline in that movie is the best thing on the planet after maple walnut ice cream.

Airplane!, because that's my dad's influence at work.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, because ... well, REALLY.

And an honorable mention to the scene in While You Were Sleeping where the paperboy goes to throw the newspaper from the icy sidewalk and his bike goes flying out from under him, if only because that scene never fails to KILL ME DEAD.

My roommate and I were watching last night...she's woefully undereducated in comedy. I began to go through my collection and pull movies for her to see.

My favorite comedies:

1) Young Frankenstein: This came in too early in the countdown. This also has some of the best female comedic roles ever. I have both the Frederick and Igor dolls, I just need the Monster...

2) Better Off Dead...: One of the two movies that have influenced my comedy (the other is Spaceballs). The scene where the mother is cooking and she says, "It has raisins...you like raisins." and plops it in front of her family and it's this lime green goo with raisins...kills me. And, of course, Ricky.

3) Spaceballs: I saw this movie everyday (along with Cinderella) for one summer vacation. A lot of people have said that this explains a lot. It was also the movie that made me want to be in entertainment.

4) Top Secret: Because Chocolate Mousse will never cease to be funny.

5) This is Spinal Tap: "This is called "Lick My Love Pump".

6: Revenge of the Nerds: All other movies should have stopped using the theme to Mission: Impossible for comedic effect after this movie because no other will ever come close.

7: Brain Donors: A modern day Marx Bros./Ritz Bros. send up with John Turturro as the Groucho part. "You can call me what everyone else does...your Royal Sex Machine."

8: Real Genius: Val Kilmer was never hotter. Except for maybe Top Secret.

9: Duck Soup: Marx Bros. insanity. The war song kills me each time.

10: L.A. Story: One word: SanDeE*. And the movie stays accurate each year I live here.

I can't believe I didn't mention Spinal Tap. What a hilarious movie...
