Last night while eating Swedish fish, I pulled the front half of a fish from the bag. A minute later I pulled the back half from the bag. My reaction, I imagine, was just like yours would have been -- "Oh, my God, my candy is performing magic tricks when I'm not looking!"

Okay, and how much fun is this flooding? I swear to God, I got in my car to drive to the next town over for groceries, and when I came back only one road wasn't washed out between here and there. Just freaking splendid. And now one of my co-workers just called me to make sure the boss knows she won't be in because there's a foot of water and rising in her basement.

I bought clams today because they were on sale and I have no freakin' clue what to do with them. So this should be amusing. But, YAY, SEAFOOD! \o/

What is Swedish fish? The salt liquorice or fruit flavoured gummy fishes? And why Swedish? And why do I expect you to know that?

What to do with the clams: steam them. Preferably in chicken broth. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, chop up some onions and parsley and put them in the broth. Yum!

My friend wishes me to inform you of how to keep clams:
Put them in a bucket with cornmeal and freah water - this will clean out the sand. Once you have done this, you can steam them as above. Do not eat clams that don't open when you steam them... otherwise the other clams will come and get you in your sleep.

What do you do with clams? Umm, invite the rest of us over?

I usually steam them with white wine and a bit of parsley and pepper. Heyorion's friend is right. Never eat ones that don't open.
