Sorry, just had to get that out of the way. Isabelle's growing on me (okay, Megalyn's growing on me), so YAY! Yeah, like I wouldn't say that even if she weren't growing on me. She's still creepy as fuck, but that's the way I like her. Thank God and bring on more porn! WOO!

Matthew's slime factor continues to grow in leaps and bounds. He bought her lingerie? Like, an obscene amount of lingerie? GYAH.

Isabelle's Hands of Discontent are my new favorites, especially if they make Matthew choke like that.

And by the way, I'm wondering if Matthew influencing Isabelle and Isabelle growing a wee bit drunk with power are why the future's still screwed up according to Faux Sara. They sent Lily back pregnant with Isabelle for a reason, and I imagine it wasn't to be a superpowers hog and model lingerie for Shawn. (Of course, if that job's hiring, I am SO THERE.)

Okay, so the Maia-disappears plot. IS AWESOME.

Granted, I don't want Maia to leave Diana's brain, because ... well, she's her mom. But now she's gone and I'm all verklempt like, "ACK!", and if you were expecting any coherency about the whole thing out of me, you're going to miss out.

It really makes me wonder what they were doing with Lindsey, Olivia, Duncan and Tyler, though. Times like this, I really wish the main website still had the 4400 files up, because they didn't say what Lindsey's power was (I don't think, unless I missed it), and here's what we know:

1. Olivia and Duncan were taken first (or at least, that's what they implied with the parents thinking they were on a camping trip).
2. Then Lindsey gets taken, then Maia, then Tyler.
3. Olivia and Duncan can control water. Tyler can control electricity. Maia can see the future.
4. Lindsey was changed first, probably to keep from organizing the others.
5. Maia was the one who was chosen to get sent back, or at least sent back first.

So, okay. Let's figure that maybe they were given those abilities so that they would grow up with them and therefore know them better than other 4400s might who received their abilities as adults. If you think of it like that, it makes it seem like those might be more useful to stop whatever tragedy is coming. (Which makes me wonder what you can do with someone who knows the future and people who can control water and electricity that would save the planet.)

Yeah, okay, somebody who knows the future will come in handy for a group who wishes to succeed. Someone who's had years to hone that ability would be even more powerful. Think about someone who learns how to play piano as a child and takes lessons into adulthood put up against an adult who just started lessons six months ago. Children learn differently than adults do, plain and simple. They sent Maia back to the present day, but now they're sending her back earlier in the timeline. Not only will she be there before everything with the 4400 goes down, but she'll have much longer to "practice."

Plus, I know the Powers That Will Be can put someone forward in the timeline, but can they put someone in a timeline before they were taken? I'm starting to get the impression they can't. In which case, the other kids wouldn't be worth it. Olivia and Duncan were only taken a few years ago, it seems, as was Tyler. That wouldn't make much of a dent, if they're trying for long-lasting ramifications with the 4400. Lindsey was taken in the '70s, which may be why she was changed before Maia. Try her first, and if she doesn't work, then you have no choice but to change Maia.

So they put her earlier in the timeline (HOW MUCH earlier should be interesting to see), which gives her time to develop her abilities fully, get more control over them, and given enough time to get into a position to help, have more of an impact on future events than she will if they keep her here.

Okay, so maybe I had a little coherency left in me. ;)

Also, for the record, when Faux Sara told Maia that could make sure she forgets "your mom, Marco, all your friends," I squealed. Marco comes before her friends and right after Diana! Yes, I'm a total Marco fangirl. Sue me.

All of the Diana/Marco stuff (He gave her a ride home! They were having a pizza date at the end! MORE KISSING!) made me all kinds of giddy. Oh, and the fact that Marco's going to die both upsets me (NOOOO! I don't want Marco to die! EVER! He needs to stay cute and geeky for eternity!) and amsues me, because his manner of death's got to be amazing if Marco thinks it's cool.

Oh, criminy, it's raining hard AGAIN.

He also brought her COFFEE! I squeal at Diana and Marco too much, too. And I definitely got upset about Marco death, too. I watched the episode with my mom, and she was TALKING when Marco was talking about his death. That upset me, too, because I didn't get to hear the line about it being a cool death. Woe!

The whole Shawn/Isabelle/Matthew thing creeps me the fuck out. Seriously. I don't get it. Shawn and Isabelle are awesome together but she's still only a year oldish. And Matthew just drips creepy. Seriously, I am pretty sure he literally does.

I think the thing with Isabelle is that it's probably really hard to jive the grown version with the baby. I mean, yeah, she's really only a year old, but she walks and talks and reads and shops, and aside from the fact that she asks a LOT of questions and is hopelessly naive, she doesn't act like someone who was an infant only a few short months ago. Richard might think of her as a child, but I don't think that what he said about other people not understanding she's really a child inside is all that correct. I'm starting to not be too sure she ever WAS a child, really. Innocent and uninformed, yes, but a child ... no. Let's be honest -- she did things as a baby that require a little more thought than an infant could come up with.

I really want to see how Intimidated-as-Fuck!Matthew behaves around Isabelle now. Wheeee.

I'm also leading toward the idea that she wasn't a normal child to begin with. Her mental development seemed way above that of an infant, and now her physical development has followed suit. She reminds me a lot of Athena: sprung pre-formed from parent's body already a fully-grown goddess.

The Matthew stuff creeped me out because it had this incestuous undertone. He's like the uncle or father that constantly compliments the young female relative about how pretty and sexually desirable she is, and he sometimes touches her in a way that's not right, until she comes to define herself in how men look at her and learns to manipulate people through sexual behavior. Of course, Matthew hasn't had years to emotionally abuse her, but he spent a few weeks being totally creepy that way.

Although Isabell kind of makes my stomach churn (she's just a creepy character), I was cheering for her to strangle him Vader-style.

I'm taking solace in the fact that Marco didn't seem too upset about the death news. That must mean it's far, far away!

Like, he's 68 and dies saving a bus full of kids or something. Or he's 68 and dies while trying out a fabulous invention that goes on to change the computer industry forever, or something.


Oh man-- my brain just started shouting at me "WHAT WOULD METHOS DO IN THIS SITUATION?" --not knowing your death ahead of time, but being in the 4400 world. Why oh WHY does my brain keep wanting to start crossovers tonight? But it'd be pretty cool... Immortals passing themselves off as 4400s and trying to decide where they personally fall on the ideological spectrum and Methos having some twisted history with Jordon Collier and... oh my head. Make it stop!

Exactly. That's the biggest reason the news of Marco's demise makes me happy -- you just know if it were next week, he'd be a little more upset about it than that.

I totally thought of you when Marco and Diana had the pizza at the end. I just KNEW that somewhere out there, you were squeeing, and squeeing hard. Oh, and ditto on Shawn/Isabelle. Who knew it would be CANON? And not only canon, but SEXY canon?

On the other hand, it could be that he dies-but not quite. Like this week with the house. Maia told Diana exactly where she was, sure-but not WHEN she was, which was something she hadn't seen. Ergo, while Marco could die, it could be like Alana's alternate worlds, where the timeline goes wickywacky and he dies but then he's back.

It's an interesting and kind of relieving thing about this series that is different from all my other fandoms: romantic angst is not a big issue here. I'm happy that Diana and Marco are able to have a relatively happy relationship and that Tom and his lady are, if not quite as happy, at least well and truly devoted to each other. Their angst is all about their kids and their jobs and the big important stuff like the future of the human race.

I never thought I'd like a show without romantic angst, but there you go.

...I guess Shawn and Isabelle will have some kind of romantic angst in the future, but oh well. Tom and Diane don't, and that's a pleasant change that I wasn't expecting to enjoy.

I've been wondering if the future people aren't one cohesive unit, but rather have conflicting sides. It would make sense that way, see on one had you have the people who took the 4400 the first time then sent them back, but then you have the other side that kills Jordan (and as creepy as he was, still a 4400, if they'd wanted him gone, why send him back) and then re-kidnaps Mia and the other children. All doing this to prevent the other side from getting what they want by sending the 4400 back. Did that make sense?

My first thought in the putting Isabelle "between" Matthew and Shawn was I wonder if it's sort of like Adam in Good Omens. What happens when you have someone who has absolute power but she's not being swayed to either side, she has to make these decisions for herself? Kinda. I'm assuming if you've read the book that'll actually make sense to you. :)
