Hollywood baby Suri Cruise's birth certificate has been leaked onto the Internet, prompting speculation about the little girl's first few weeks. The document, filed with the Los Angeles County Register Recorder/County Clerk, and obtained by Tmz.com, was filed on May 8 - almost a month after baby Suri was born. It's customary in Los Angeles to file the birth details within 10 days of the delivery. A source at St. John's Hospital, where baby Suri was born, tells Tmz.com the delay occurred because they needed a signature from the parents or a representative of the parents certifying birth, and that person did not come in until May 4. The person who signed for Tom Cruise and wife-to-be Katie Holmes is labeled a "friend" in the document. The hospital source also reveals the 'friend' explained to staff that the birth certificate was necessary for Suri to obtain a passport.

This keeps up, and I'm going to start thinking Suri Cruise comes down the chimney in the middle of the night and leaves baskets of eggs under my pillow when I lose a tooth.

I just realized that thanks to my computer, I thought I'd slept two more hours than I had. GYAH. *headdesk*

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go pour over "Monsters of Moosic" until my brain explodes.

EDIT: Watching the World Series of Pop Culture makes me feel like some sort of idiot savant. How come we didn't have bees like this when I was in high school?! I would have KICKED MAJOR ASS.

I'm beginning to think the press' idea that there IS no baby isn't all that ridiculous after all...

Fake?

Ever since Katie (or Kate or whatever name he's calling her now) announced she was pregnant, I kept wondering if it was all a lie. Fake pregnancy, fake baby. Or maybe I've been watching way too many Lifetime movies. "Tonight on Lifetime: He was a famous actor, she was a TV star, and they created a family that didn't exist."

*glomps you* Thanks! :)

Now I'm horribly tempted to make a shirt for when I go to Boston this weekend that says:

I believe in
Santa Claus
The Easter Bunny
Suri Cruise

Our household figured Suri did not meet the exacting standards of Cruise, and so will not be seen until they can find another baby of the same age to switch with.

exacting standards, as in "not crazy enough"?

More like "not cute enough" or "has giant birthmark on face" or "is black."

Supposedly, Katie Holmes' parents have seen her once, and that's it. Sort of like Bigfoot, except smaller and less hairy.

Then again, that would explain a LOT.

Suri Cruise: the Drew Barrymore of her generation.

A closer examination of the Barrymores might be warranted. They were drunk, fucked up and crazy.

I've been convinced from the beginning that they kidnapped/plan to kidnap Brooke Shields's baby and pass it off as theirs.

My cousin told me this theory... and now I'm beginning to consider it.

Scary.

And about half an hour ago I was on Defamer.com looking up something else and found myself checking out the stuff under their "miracle baby" tag. I was up until today oblivious to there being any mystery around this kid (beyond the usual assumptions regarding artificial insemination and Holmes' rental of her womb), but I must say I find the media's suspicions reasonably founded.
