Actually, it's just the one thing.

ANGELA'S A FUCKING TEAM LEADER?!?!

The worst part of this -- the WORST part -- is that while I wasn't spoiled on team leaders, I was on who would be in the teams, and noooooooooo. *cradles head in hands* I don't like this at ALL. Almost as much as I don't like that fucking smug look on her face when she got picked.

On the other hand, team leaders go first when they fuck up. *crosses fingers

The more I hear Jeffrey rip on Angela, the more I like him.

Aw, poor Bradley.

You know, I'm not all that thrilled with Vincent's behavior when he's team leader, but I do appreciate that he's willing to do what he's told even if he doesn't like the design.

BWAHAHA! I really need to make a note of what Laura called Angela's work.

OOOOOOOOO. That's MUCH worse than the fashion magazines I heard he might have. I mean, it's PATTERN BOOKS.

And he left the site AND used the Internet? I'd say how fucking stupid is he, but I've seen him on the show. And I know there's going to be bitching about Kayne going to the producers, but Keith was CHEATING, for fuck's sake.

"Scapegoats"? Oh, shut it, Keith. And if you weren't using those books for an unfair advantage, then why were they there?

I feel so sorry for Alison and Jeffrey. Now they have to do the whole thing by themselves? Maaaaaan.

"I'm a squid with no ocean." HEEEEEE. Sometimes I think Bradley is creepy, and sometimes he makes me giggle.

Oh, God, Angela's making fucking rosettes again. *HEADDESK*

*splorfles* Michael on the table! Hee!

... okay, that's not such a bad use of the rosettes for ONCE.

It's a good thing Jeffrey and Alison work well together.

Heh. Bonnie likes Corona. That's the second time I've seen her drinking that. I can't believe I notice that stuff.

Dude, if Jeffrey and Alison win this, I will love them bunches.

YAY for Jeffrey and Alison! And Angela's outfit is ... not bad. I don't like the length of the jacket, but the rest of it I like. Really well-fitted, too. I do like Jeffrey and Alison's better, though. It just makes that model that much longer and elegant, and I adore that coat.

The pants that Angela's wearing, though? *gags*

*whimpers* I don't like Robert's design at all.

Eleven percent of people thought Keith shouldn't have gone home for breaking THREE RULES? The hell?!

Oh, thank GOD. Not that I didn't like Bonnie, but I don't want to lose Robert! *cuddles him, passes him off to [livejournal.com profile] babyofthegroup for protection*

*eye roll* Well, I'm grateful that Laura and Michael won one, anyway. That's all Michael wanted was to win one challenge, and he has, even if he was just a team member.

Next week: WOOHOO! We get working-with-the-models challenge! I love it when we get to learn more about them!

Quick question: Am I the only one who thinks Laura's model Katie looks a LOT like Katie Holmes?

Bradley cracks my shit up. And he looks like Bradley Cooper! Or maybe it's just the name.

"Maybe she'd like me if I shaved off my beard?" Heeeee.

I find myself liking Angela, just a little all of a sudden. Like, you can actually see her realizing she's been a jackass, and she wants to make up for it.

Eh, we'll see if it lasts.

Yeah, she's really trying to make up for last week. And the week before. And she's not so bad tonight, although that might be because of Laura and Michael's influence. They seem to know just how to work her.

Did anyone else but me get shades of Chloe and Kara double-teaming Daniel Franco in the lingerie challenge? Laura and Michael really seemed like they were working her hard.

From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
True, but it obviously worked better with Angela than it did with Franco. Daniel Franco wasn't trying to make up for anything or fix any mistakes -- Angela really wanted their input after the messes she's made of the last couple of challenges.

I mean, they might have been a little hard on her -- Laura more than Michael, definitely -- but God knows she needed something to give her a kick in the pants.

Mm, yes. I was very impressed that Angela, when held in check by two people with sophistication and taste, actually produced a decent, wearble, likeable design.

And so much love for them fighting the rosettes.

I have to say, though, that my favorite part of Tim's podcast was when he was talking about her presenting her sketches to the guy from Macy's and going, "That's funny, because I could have sworn she told Miss USA she didn't sketch." *giggles*

Ooh, I can't wait to hear that part! I have the podcast downloaded on my computer at home, but I didn't have the chance to listen to it before work this morning.

I would *love* to hear him deliver Laura's line - the one about the "full tilt boogie quilted extravaganza of puff!"

I noticed that Katie-the-model looks like Katie Holmes too.

I'm just assuming that that 11% was Keith sitting at home in his boxers speed-dialing Bravo on four phones.

*snickers* Well, his "good mommy" probably has a phone or two, too. ;)

Nah. I've got a post in my LJ about how one of the comms was dead sure it couldn't be Kieth going home because "that would just be too predictable". I think that 11% is just evidence of how there are a LOT of stupid Project Runway fans in the world.

I'm glad Angela's team won the challenge, but my gladness is really for Michael and Angela. If it didn't have all those damed rosettes, I'd probably buy it, too. It had more than I thought it was going to had.

Jeffery's starting to grate on my nerves after this episode. What a whiner. Does he not remember that Jay never won a challenge either? And not winning any of them didn't make him any less of a good designer. The only thing I didn't like about the Alison/Jeffery/Keith team is the bottom of the shirt. It was like they took the top of a tank top and folded over the shirt. :\ Other than that and only super skinny women can pull off skinny jeans. I'd just look like a stuffed turkey in an outfit like that.

And poor Bonnie's grandma pants!

And I can't believe I kept Jeffrey's name wrong. :\ I just get so excited when I type. Esp. if the letters are really close together. *sigh*

She's definitely cuter than Katie Holmes, though. The lack of a vacant dead-eyed stare helps, I suppose. :)

The only reason Angela won was because Laura and Michael reigned her in. They let her use her little rosettes as accent buttons instead of being a focal point.

All I kept thinking about was that they couldn't let Robert go because then Kayne would miss his boyfriend.

Exactly. Angela really needed someone to just smack her hand and say, "No rosettes, damn it!" And Laura and Michael were the perfect people to do that. They're professional, they work well together already, they've already bonded, and they can be very persuasive when they have to be.

She was obviously trying to make up for her behavior the past few challenges. If she were smarter, she would have taken the judges's opinions more to heart and not gone anywhere near rosettes this episode, but ... *shrugs*

If she hadn't been so repugnant the past two weeks, I probably would have been happier for her this week, but ... yeah. The previews show Jeffrey acting like an ass to her next week, but I agree with the "take your macaroni art and GO HOME." Seriously.

The only reason Angela won was because Laura and Michael reigned her in.

No, the reason Angela won tonight is because she showed good judgment in selecting her team--two individuals who had worked well together in the past, had the maturity to work well with a somewhat flaky individual, and had the elegance to offset her tendencies--and then showed the further and rarer good judgment to listen to that team. The halls of fashion are littered with the bodies of those who ignored the advice of the people they were working with because the design was their vision and they knew best. Angela was smarter than that, and managed to put everyone's talents to good use, so that what they sent down the runway was miles better than anyone else's design--and no, it wasn't exclusively because of Michael and Laura, because the final touch that made it the clear winner was the lining inside the jacket, and that was a pure Angela moment all the way.

She deserved that win.

I think the lining was the frosting on the cake, it wasn't the winning point. I do agree that she was smart in picking the team she did and listened to them. It was the best design, and her little rosettes were actually a very elegant touch.

The question is, does she have the skills to do something like that on her own? The designs she's done on her own were nowhere near as good as the one she did last night.

That's not to say she isn't someone to learn from her mistakes (or what she did right). That's a large part of what makes someone successful in business, the ability to admit that you don't know it all, to know your weaknesses and surround yourself with people that can compensate for them.

From: [identity profile] milkshake-b.livejournal.com
I don't think she could do it on her own, actually--but that doesn't have anything to do with her winning this one, and deserving to win this one. This one was based on not just coming up with and executing a design, but coming up with a design, picking a team of people, and working with that team to execute the design. In terms of all that, she did excellently, way above par for how designers on this show usually do, which was the important point, and landed her that victory. If she'd picked bad people, or good people who weren't willing to work with her or each other, or if she hadn't listened to their suggestions or contributions... the reason I have to hand it to her on this one is simply because there were so many ways, given that it was her, it could have ended in disaster, rather than in a surprisingly awesome design. (Heidi was right: that thing looked expensive.)

But... despite all that, whenever I read my flist and people's reactions to the episode... I found one person who felt she did a good job and deserved that win. Everyone else is too busy ranting about how horrible and terrible and awful she is, and giving all the credit to Michael and Laura. Who were good, yes, who are excellent designers. But Angela surprised me pleasantly for showing the good sense to recognize that and make good use of their skills, and I have to hand her props for that, and don't understand why everyone else seems to be refusing to.

I think they feel that it was actually Michael and Laura that won. They banded together and got her to hold back and it worked beautifully.

If she had shown design talent before this it might have turned out differently. It would have been a major coup for her and a massive FY to Vincent (which it still was actually). But since her designs have resembled street walker wear more than anything else it's easy to dismiss the win as belonging to someone else.

It would have been very easy for Laura and Michael to just do what she wanted, which IMO, would have been a disaster for all involved. Chances of them being eliminated would have been pretty small since Angela already had a reputation for being "tasteless".

Instead they were professional and gave their opinion and she was smart enough to listen. As a result it was the best design out there.

I'm anxious to see just what she does next week, if she's learned anything or not.

I'm an eagle with no sky.

No! I was totally thinking that during the show tonight. She looks more like pre-Scientology Katie Holmes, because I don't see that dead look in her eyes.

*hugs Robert* I love him, but that was a terrible outfit.

And she doesn't look like she's not eating anything, which is nice. For a model, she actually looks like she's got some curves. Those cute little chipmunk cheeks of hers make her face look rounded in this absolutely gorgeous way.

And yes, baaaaad outfit. "American Airlines" was a pretty apt description.
