So apparently the government stopped another terrorist plot. You know what? I really wish I could continue to think they're just doing it as a distraction from some Republican andor conservative getting arrested or saying something stupid or whatever, but I can't. Know why? Because they're ALWAYS doing something wrong. Bush is always acting like a frat boy and Dick Cheney's always accidentally shooting people in the face and people like fuckin' Santorum are always doing stuff like rescinding their signatures on anti-discrimination letters. (Is it time to vote his ass out of office yet? Casey Jr. would have to eat a baked baby in nun sauce with a side order of mashed puppies and kitten ice cream for dessert to lose at this point.)

In happier news, if you love Michael on Project Runway, go listen to this week's Tim Gunn podcast on Bravo's website. He practically falls all over himself conplimenting Michael's designing and ability to recognize problems in his outfits and fix them accordingly. It's awesome. :)

You know those buffalo chicken pierogies I had at the carnival last week? They sell them in the grocery stores around here. So now I have a package of them and a package of the steak and cheese kind. SCORE!

Also, it was the Brits doing the arresting, if I am understanding correctly.

Yup, that too.

The plot was uncovered in London and only involved UK to US flights. No US gov't involvement.

Really, nothing's big enough to distract from all that stupid. *now wishes she hadn't deleted the post-turtle story*

True, but you'd be amazed. I've already heard the "dangling something shiny over here to distract from something stupid over there" comments, even considering the British control over it.

It's something you'll always hear. Not the first time it's been said. Not even the first administration it's been said during... I think Regan was in office when I first heard stuff like that said.

Your talk of pierogies is NOT helping with my hunger pangs :P

I had the same thought this morning when I turned on the radio. Decided that the Bush administration hadn't been especially retarded lately, and therefore it wasn't a distraction technique.

Mmmm... pierogies. I finally got to try some at the NJ state fair last week and LOVED them. I'll have to look in the supermarket.

Dude, pierogies are the best things EVER. You couldn't get me to eat them when I was in school, but now I could eat them every day.

Mmmm. Now I want the buffalo chicken ones. *stomach grumbles*

What brand are they? Not that they'd have them out here too, but it's worth a shot.

Nah, they probably wouldn't -- they're Plumpy's and they're a local company. Mrs. T's is pretty good, though. Fried up with a little butter and onions and gaaaaah, now I definitely need some.

Hmm, I'll try those then. Thanks :)

The story now is apparently Scotland Yard has been tracking this plot for months, they told Bush last week, and warned him if he didn't keep his mouth shut they'd stop supporting him at the UN. If you can swallow that he did in the face of extreme enough a threat, the rest is hardly unbelievable.
