Aw, look at little Michael. *pinches his cheeks*

Oh, and I've discovered a new pet peeve after last night's PR. It comes in two parts.

1. Being offended by the inherent sexism of that cursed Forbes article.
2. Making the bitchface about Laura's parenting skills, or how many kids she's got, or how she's obviously a horrible mother because she's doing Project Runway.

Remind me again how I'm supposed to stop going to the TWoP boards.

Another thing that bugged me last night -- that Jeffrey's mother didn't come in from talking to Angela's mom and do exactly what my mother would have done. See, if my brother had ever treated anyone else's mom like that on national television, she would have walked up to him, smacked him upside the head, and said, "What the hell is wrong with you? You march your sorry ass in there right now and apologize. A LOT. Because if you don't, I will END YOU."

Instead, Jeff's mom hugged him. Fabulous. That'll show him.

I tried to access the Forbes article, but the link I was passed didn't work. Was it taken down?

Yup, and then later on they put it back up, this time with a "rebuttal" from a female columnist. A pretty crappy way to get more hits on their website, if you ask me.

Oh yeah Jeffrey's mum. She was all 'my poor ex-junkie baby-boy!' Maybe she thinks he's obviously punished enough with his cracked-out neck tattoo that he can act however the hell he wants.

Totally.

Maybe if she'd been less of the "oh my poor lil baby wah wah" and more in Laura's style of motherhood (the School of Knock It the Hell Off NOW) he wouldn't have become a junkie/alkie in the first place. He surely would have less of a stuck-up God complex.

the School of Knock It the Hell Off NOW

*lol* Funny but probably true!

Um. I thought Jeff was slightly out of line (he had no need to go off on Angela's mom, though I felt that Angela's mom did, in fact, put him in a shit of a position by sitting around thinking, "hmm. that color sucks. i hate this" until Tim came around and he had no chanse to change it).

However, there is no fucking reason to blame a mother for their son being an alcoholic/junkie. While it's quite possibly genetics, very little a mother does has anything to do with that kind of outcome.

Apparently my mother was watching it when my sister had it on and started to loathe Jeffrey and his mother's "pity the ex junkie" mentality, that when he was in the final two she commented "uh oh looks like Jeff is gonna start drinking again"

It's horrible and I can't stop laughing.

HA! Oh, that is horrible in the best way.

It's even funnier since she's nearly 30 years recovering herself.

The TWOP boards bring the headache and the crazy, sadly.

The TWOP haven't quite reached ONTD levels for me, but they're moving in that direction. Laura does not suck as a mother for having six kids and people generally need to shut up. Laura is not on one of those nanny shows because she can't control her kids; she's on a fashion design show. The two have nothing to do with each other.

I was expecting a bitchslap from Jeffrey's mom, too, because she seemed sort of cool at first. I bet Michael's mom would have done that, but her son knows better in the first place.

I'm starting to hate Jeffrey more and more. He was so mean to Angela's mother, and I realize he's the designer but you should still be kind to your models. I'm hoping someone will put him in his place.

(I just friended you, by the way, because I love your fic.)

I came away from that with the feeling that Jeffrey's mom is so grateful that he's okay after all the gutter-living, that she's mostly just concerned that he'll screw up again. He was really quick to reassure her that he was doing all right, not that he was sorry or that he didn't mean to make that poor woman cry. I think they both might be a little Jeffrey-centric, to the detriment of everyone else.

TWoP and the Laura thread...there are people who get offended at the drop of a hat. Not me. I have my What Would Laura Do bracelet (WWLD?) and not only does it look fabulous, it makes my wrist look emaciated. (I so want Laura to cut a Jeffrey bitch. (And I want Tim to give into his passion and smack Vincent. I want to see what a Tim Gunn Bitch Slap would be - he could say, "Look, buster, I don't think you're ready for this jelly." (Tim saying "buster" is one of the top ten funniest things in the world.)

I'll stop babbline.
