My teeth hurt so fucking MUCH.

*whimpers*

I went and got Aleve, which is the only thing that really works on me, and ended up taking twice the dosage, because it's the only thing that works on me. I really wish I knew why I get to have an extremely low tolerance for alcohol ("Two beers and he's doing karaoke"? I wish I could last two beers) but have a ridiculously high tolerance for drugs. The recommended dosage never works on me. For anything.

Oh, man, I cannot afford to go to the dentist this week. I can barely afford food after I pay my rent this week.

*whimpers again*

Owwww. Dental trouble: Its own class of unpleasantness. Hope Aleve works soonish.

*Hugs you* I'm sorry!

I've heard from my sister that clove oil dabbed on the tooth numbs it, maybe that will help?

Assuming of course that you aren't allergic to it.

And if you are? Well hey, you can threaten to drool on anyone who pisses you off with your numbed face.

: ( Ouch. Sorry. Does anything other than Aleve have much effect?

Grr, so unfair.
Do you grind? I do, sometimes all that helps is to put my mouth guard in.
There's professional strength AnBeSol that I get at Walgreens, but that's more for gum pain than actual tooth nerve pain.

-hugs you-
grr, and I WISH I had a solution, but... -cries with you-

Hot water bottle? Depends on the kind of ow, course, but it was one of the only things that helped (marginally) when I had nerve pain related to teeth.

I mean, you know the 21st century kind, which I make thusly:

Wet paper towels, like aabout three of them folded up in a square.
Put in ziplock.
Heat in microwave until steamy-hot.
Close zip of ziplock
Wrap in a kitchen towel
Apply to face.

I've found because of the whole nuker process, the paper towels hold the heat really well and therefore the hot water bottle stays nicely hot for a long time.

:)

Is your dentist willing to work out a payment plan? Because it sounds like this could get worse (read: more expensive) if you wait much longer. If you've got an infection and it goes untreated, you could be looking at an abscess (yuck).

Doesn't hurt to ask (or doesn't hurt as much as what you've got now, right?).

Yeah, that's what I was going to suggest. I know the dentist that I go to has a Care Credit payment plan option. Your dentist might as well.

Good luck! Dental pain is awful!!

How much would you need to go to the dentist? Email me at missy dot pratt at gmail dot com. I might be able to help you out (it's a 'pay it forward' thing that I'm doing).

Seconded. I have some extra money lying around and I have a history of terrible tooth pain so I know what you're going through.

email: orli.gal@gmail.com

And I'd offer to send you some of the Tylenl-3's I still have (yay codeine!) but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to a) share and b) send in the mail.

I feel your pain. Aleve kinda works for me, but I'm a fatty so I gotta double up on the dosages too. I got three or four that need work and two that need to come out. What do you need to have done?

owowowowowoowow!!!

for me, I've found that ibuprofen works better, but if aleve does it for you, good deal!

do you have dental insurance at all? if so, see if you can go in for a "consultation" orsomething that your insurance will pick most (if not all of) up, and see if you can get prescription goodies (incl. antibiotics if there's *any* swelling at all!)

Good luck!
