I am awful about three things ... answering all the comments I want to, wishing everybody a happy birthday, and leaving as much feedback as I'd like. The answering comments, I need to work on. The feedback ... well, if you end up in my fic recs, you can trust that I want to swoon against you and snuggle like a puppy. The birthday thing ... er, if you've ever had a birthday or ever will, HAPPY FREAKIN' BIRTHDAY!

Yeah, okay, I'm a dork. I'll admit it. I just feel apologetic about the whole thing, I guess.

I stayed up until seven in the morning and slept all day. Damn it, body, what the hell happened to my weekend sleeping patterns? I'm definitely not staying up all night tonight, that's for damn sure.

Last night, I toyed with my layout and pretty much changed everything about it. Heh. *pokes LJ with a stick*

Where babies come from -- an illustrated German children's book. NSFW. That book amuses the hell out of me not only for the way the baby looks when it's coming out ("Ta-da! Nothing up my vagina ... presto!"), but because I learned about sex the exact same way when I was a kid. My parents just tossed another book onto the pile I was already going to read, somewhere in between the Babysitter Club books, the Nancy Drew books, and the five thousand historical biographies I liked to read.

[livejournal.com profile] catwalksalone occasionally uses the scary jazz hands baby as an icon. I say it's an improvement on some of the other ones she uses, but that's because I hate some of her other fandoms. Jazz hands baby. Yay!

Oh my god, that grinning baby would have scarred me for life if I'd seen that as a small child. But then again, I'm 28 and I still find the whole childbirth thing terrifying.

This is a nice layout, yah
You are NOT a bad person. a bad commentor, perhaps, and not so up on the whole birthday thing (i forget about mylj all the time and the nice birthday tracking thing there- imagine how i am in RL!)
the book is PERFECT for something i'm working on. how i WISH there'd been books like that when I was small, and the consciousness to use them.

you rock.

the sleep thing is hard though, ain't it? -worked nights for 21 years- i always did like being up in the night better than being up in the day.

That book is priceless. And you're right, the birth scene is the best. "Lookie me, I'm being born!"

I find the idea of a grinning infant pulling itself out of my vagina not a bit unsettling - and I've given birth.

That guy look freakily like my soon to be ex-husband. When I first met him. LOL He is clean shaven now. Big improvement.

my elementary school used to have this book in the library when I was a kid, it´s a perfect sample of ´70 northern europe realisim for children. I thought this book was cool then and still do, I still remember the boys giggling in the corner looking at it. Other books of this ilk scared me for life though, my mom could read me all the fantasy she could find but one book about a dad doing the laundry for the first time frightened me to death, still have not finished that book.

that book also freaks me out. when i was six and my mom was pregnant and i was wondering how it happened, my mom got me an actual medical textbook (she's an nurse) so i could read it (i had a high level of reading when i was young) and see the pictures of a fetus developing. now that i'm older, i appreciate it on a whole new level that i never had to deal with thinking babies came from a giant bird delivery service.
