The classifieds around here suck ass, unless I want to work at Red Lobster or package chocolates all night long. *sigh*
And since I guess it's Quote Your Own Fic day:
He looks into the shadows expecting to see Dean watching like an amused spectator, lumbering towards him with feet pounding the pavement and shoulders rolling in that familiar walk, like a cowboy who learned how to stand upright by studying bears in motion. -- The Wild One (just because I really like that description of Dean's walk)
There's nearly six hundred people signed up for Yuletide. That's kind of awesome, y'all.
Meanwhile, on TAR, Alabama and the Beauty Queens both behaved like idiots tonight, the Beauty Queens with that whole London exchange at the airport and Alabama and the BQs over that stupid ticket counter incident. Actually, Karlyn especially bugged the pants off me tonight when she kept ripping into the ticket agent for listening to the BQs. Dude, he's just doing his job. Knock it off.
Yeah, the models were in it, too, but they sure edited it to look like the BQs did all the heavy lifting in trying to get them tickets ahead of Alabama, so why the hell Karlyn was bitching at them other than that they were still there is beyond me. (Don't mind me. I just really don't like Karlyn.)
So David and Mary are marked for elimination again. That's nice of Phil, isn't it? ;)
Also, the Mauritius greeter was so pretty.
Next week: Intersection? OOO. I like how they're actually giving out clues this season and how they took away the Bathmat Muggings and how the PTB seem to have taken this season as an opportunity to try fixing things on the show, so I'm wondering what the hell that's going to involve in a good way.

Date: 2006-10-30 02:27 am (UTC)02. This is my first year doung Yuletide. I gave Baby-sitters Club as a fandom I could write for. I am so hoping I don't regret.

Date: 2006-10-30 06:01 am (UTC)1) A fandom that I'm actually familiar with. This is tougher than you might think, as I'm not deeply involved with any small fandoms. Trying to find something that's small enough to pass muster with the mods and that I've actually read (because I prefer to have a canon that I own and can refer to any time, and I have more books than DvDs)...well, it's tricky.
2) Characters that I feel I know well enough to write about. I have a terrible tendency not to be very interested in popular characters, so this further complicates things.
3) A request for a story that has a plot, is gen, or both.
It's virtually impossible to get all of the above even when I'm searching, never mind when I've been given an assignment and the only matching thing on the assignment is the fact that I kind of know the fandom...a little.
So these days, I just don't try doing Yuletide.
