Dear Rick Santorum,

Suck it, dillhole.

Sincerely,

Me

****

That made me feel better tonight right up until the point during my three o'clock break when I walked into the ladies' room and vomited for five minutes straight. And now instead of going to bed and getting some much-needed sleep I have to take the cat to the vet and bring it back again afterwards, meaning I should get to bed just in time to get maybe four hours of sleep if I'm lucky.

I really need to explain the concept of what a person who works a twelve-hour-a-night shift does during the day to my mother, because it apparently didn't sink in the last five million times I bitched about it.

Also, the next person who responds to my nausea by asking me if I'm pregnant gets to watch me cry in my car as I go through another mood swing in the general direction of "loneliness." *grumbles*

What, does she keep, like, calling you in the middle of the day? That's always pleasant, when yer ma wakes you up like that.

Word about Santorum. *points at him and laughs*

I hope you feel better, hon. *hugs* You know the little bags of old-fashioned peppermint sticks? You can usually buy them in a grocery store for about a dollar? Nab one if you can... peppermint can help prevent nausea and vomitting.

*more hugs*

Or peppermint tea. Well, if you like tea. I know plenty of people that would rather stay sick than ever drink a cup of hot tea, but it always makes my stomach feel better.

My mother used to respond with nausea/vomiting with, "ha-ha, you must be pregnant," too.

Why does no one realize how hurtful that is?

Sorry you're sick, hon. Feel better.

Try ginger ale or lavender tea. Both are tummysettling in my experience.

Next time someone asks-whip up your shirt and shout, "YES! Would you like to rub my belly for good luck?" All the while, giggle manically. Jeeezuz! People are so rude!
Seriously, or maybe semi-seriously, the "People" have spoken. And they've said, "Mind if we come in & rearrange the furniture?"
Yep, I'm a smartass. Which makes working as a customer service rep all the more difficult.
I hope you feel better-I worked overnights, 7-7, then 12-8, for about three years, & understand how effed up your internal systems can get. And I hope Kitty is going to be okay, too.
I have to finish watching "Martha Stewart" & get ready for work. She makes me laugh.

Take care, & get some rest.

Don't forget, 1 more day until SPN!

Ginger syrup is wonderful for nausea.

I was sick to my stomach one time and one of the woman who works for me gave me these Russian cookies. They settle your stomach in minutes, and were actually good. Sadly, I have no idea what they're called as the package was in Russian and she didn't know the English word for them. I just refer to them as the "magic Russian cookies".

Cheer up. I know it sucks that people keep asking if you're pregnant. People don't do it to be mean or anything. Mostly, they're trying to be funny.

I'm sorry to hear that your day sucked somewhat, nausea wise.

Re: Loneliness. Whether you are feeling lonely, you are not alone, I mean, we are here, in cyberspace. If that helps.

Way too many people out there who don't get that night shift people are sleeping at noon because they're up all night working, not because they're lazy slackers who can't be arsed to get out of bed, or don't stop and think that just because a person is at home all day doesn't mean that they have all day free. (I had a few family members who didn't quite get that, but at least my schedule got me home by 3am and meant I really could use the afternoon for things.)

And sucks about the nausea. I generally don't tell people when I have an upset stomach (unless I'm phrasing it as, "I have a migraine," because that tends to be what's causing the nausea rather than having it as an isolated symptom), so I've never had to deal with a stupid pregnancy question. Not sure I wouldn't be compelled to respond with, "Because of course there's nothing else that could make a woman sick to her stomach, is there? Especially one who hasn't even dated in the past year or two..."
