He's never really mad or pissed off or anything. Even when he was in that argument with Betty it was mostly him stating his side as calmly as anyone could manage against that shrill harpy. And he's cute, and he's not half as smug as everybody seems to think he is (honestly, he's not anywhere near the little snot that Stephen was last year -- he's the textbook definition of a dork), and for crying out loud, the man purposely clips his hair up to make it do that. Something about that just makes me love him more. He gets a lot of flack for saying that stuff in the first episode about everybody being out to get him because he's talented, but there are other chefs who've said things that are equally as assy as that since then. (See: Frank saying, "A true chef is a gentleman," a week after threatening Marcel with bodily harm for putting his toothbrush somewhere other than the kitchen and how he's more talented than some people still competing, Josie making that crack about how they could possibly kick her out when she's so damn talented, etc.)
Ilan lost me when he just became all about the making fun of Marcel. Hell, a lot of them lost me when it was all, "Marcel is such a smug little punk!"
And I'm painfully tired of Sam and his oily shit-stirring schtick. Every time he's gotten pointed out for doing something wrong at the judges table, he points out somebody else's alleged cheating all while saying, "Oh, I'm not that person." Sure you're not, you dillhole.
