"Dexter" ...
Dec. 12th, 2006 03:57 pmOh, my God, this show.
HOMG DEB'S ON THE BOAT WITH RUDY! *SPAZZ*
And okay, I kinda saw it coming that he'd take her out for dumping purposes when Dexter said that thing about calling him when she came up for air, which this show likes the snarky morbid humor ... heh, but YAY! And I love the fact that Rudy was like, "You didn't figure out that I was the Ice Truck Killer? Mwahahahaha!" right before he choked her. (Even though I did soften towards her a little when they were at the Santa's workshop crime scene and she reached out when Dexter was crouched in front of her and fixed a lock of his hair. That was a cute little detail.) And the ring! Okay, that was so creepy even I was like, "EWW, EWW, EWW!", which says a lot considering I really want to make a Christmastime icon out of the body parts wrapped up under the Christmas tree.
I pretty much spent the last fifteen minutes of the episode after Angel made that crack about giving his attacker a split lip shrieking in my apartment. Useless, I tell you. USE. LESS.
I love every character on this show. I love Dexter and Doakes and Angel and Masuko and Rudy and LaGuerta and the slimy police chief and yes, even Deb, even though she's irritated me this entire season for not noticing she's screwing a serial killer and related to one and WHATEVER, because as soon as this season is over I'm totally writing fic where heartbroken Deb drinks and fucks her way through Miami because you know that is so how she'd cope.
And Rita. Holy crap, have I mentioned how much I love Rita? Julie Benz just totally OWNS me in that role, because in a show with two serial killers having this silent artistic murderous competition Rita and her family dramas keep me just as intrigued as the crime stuff does. I just love the fact that being with Dexter (who is probably the last person in the world you'd think someone should date) is making her a stronger person, because he's saying all these things that might not be normal but are exactly what she needs to hear. And then she takes them and actually does something with them, like when she took the kids to jail to see Paul after Dexter said at the playground that she wasn't protecting the kids, she was protecting Paul. Just, YES.
Also, I knew 103 had to be October 3 AND the date of Dexter's mother's murder.
I really need to take that shot of Rudy arranging the severed body parts in his refrigerated room and make it into an icon with the caption, "Deck the halls with parts of bodies." Seriously ... *snickers*
