If you haven't already considered it, I encourage you to read the Dexter novels. The ending of the first one differs quite dramatically to the show.

I liked the changes though. Not necessarily in that one was better than another, but given that they had to know that plenty of folks in the audience read the book I think they did a good job of shaking things up just enough to keep it interesting.

Just finished reading the first Dexter book today -- definitely glad I watched the whole series before cracking the book -- and swinging by the library as soon as I'm out of here to get the next, because I'm not too worried about being spoiled for next season given that the ending of the book was in some seriously divergent directions to the show. Loving it so much.

Gah. I wish SO MUCH that I could screencap AVI files, because then I could be posting this comment with a "Deck the halls with parts of bodies" icon. Definitely need a Dexter icon.

Oh, I agree -- I think the changes made were all the smartest things to do, and I really adored the episode. I just think the differences are kind of neat as differences. :)

I will read that story!!!!! I just finished watching Dexter and I completely loved it and yeah the older brother certainly had a thing for Dexter.
