How I drive my mother insane

Three words on my mother's Christmas Eve party shopping list that I had to correct the spelling of:
1. Smirnoff ("There's no 'ch' in there, Mom. You drink enough of it, you'd think you'd know how to spell it.")
2. Kielbasa ("GYAH.")
3. Hors d'oeuvres (I should have said, "Oh my God, Mom, did a typewriter sneeze on this list?!" but instead I just gaped in horror.)
Also, my brother has to work on Christmas Eve. They pretty much called him up and insisted on it, which seems mean but isn't a surprise considering how low on the totem pole he still is. On the other hand, I reminded him that it'll make his paycheck bigger. He was also worried that now they'd make him work on New Year's Eve, too, but I told him to put up a fight if they do. They can't just make him work on one holiday and then try to pull the same crap a week later.
